Honestly I've worked in a pig slaughter house and it reeked outside but the smell wasn't really bad inside for whatever reason, id imagine the cleaning and ventilation. But that being said I didn't work in the area with guts etc

Currently I work as a meat clerk at a store. It's not the most disgusting job ever, but there is a lot of nasty shit in your local supermarket/butcher shop. There is so much old rotten meat that gets stuck in the cracks of the displays. Not to mention plenty of the guys touch the product WITHOUT gloves. So yeah, not super disgusting, but I see plenty of nasty shit. Makes you think twice when buying meat from a store.
