I think it is a great Design, both visual and in sound. As a huge Fan of the books though, I would have prefered something more devil-like or even just a shadowy figure engulfed in dark flames. The Balrogs in the Legendarium neither have wings nor are they discribed with horns. But I think me and maybe fifty other people would have prefered that, so good on Jackson for making the Balrog more flashy.
