I hate that TJ turned out to be right in his assessment of Halloween Kills being a surprisingly solid film. It had clever social/political commentary, comedic or otherwise memorable kills, and it demonstrated a healthy level of self-awareness. I also didn't expect it to have a message in line with Dune, regarding fear.

I was too really disappointed that they didn't even show the extent of the Harkonen's evil like why not make the movie 3 hours it deserved to be...

A lot of underused characters but it's a multi part series so maybe in the next one? I'd give it a solid 8.8/10. Good visuals, acting and a pretty effective musical score make this is best film version of Dune thus far.

However it hasnt left my mind yet, the imagery is mesmerizing and the score is bombastic. I can’t wait to watch it again after i have had some time to think about it.

2021-10-22 13:38:15 +0000 UTCIt's easily one of the most faithful adaptions I've ever seen, and as to be expected it was shot and directed beautifully. The things that were changed/removed were fairly insignificant in terms of the grand plot (like references to the Orange Catholic Bible or the Butlerian Jihad, or changing Liet Kynes into a woman). Can't wait to hear your guys thought because I was enchanted. They better get to greenlighting part 2.

I'll watch it in theatres with my friends in the following week to get the true experience but goddamn I can't wait. I'll suffice with my shitty 6in phone screen lmao At least I got a dope quality bluetooth so I can have epic sound for it. Won't miss out on that. I bought the whole Dune series and been(trying to) read through them before the film but, as Paul has said, it's not an easy read. I only got through the first book half way lol. But it's worth it just to have them for the long run in reading them. I'd definitely recommend the books but I'd make sure you have time set aside to dedicate to it.
