School Shootings You've Never Heard of = DFF #364

https://youtu.be/9Hf4J1ouTdY

It's hard to forget tragic school shootings like Columbine, Sandy Hook, Newtown, and Parkland. They've gotten so frequent that sometimes one happens and it goes eerily unnoticed by the majority of America, even though it should be equally shocking and outraging. Today, we cover a couple school shootings you've probably never heard of on Deep Fat Fried.

School Shootings You've Never Heard of = DFF #364

This was a really, really good episode in a vast ocean of incredible content. Glad I resubbed 💝

Phoebe Ophie

You should cover my girl Brenda ann spencer!

Dylan Whaley

Wonder if that first kid took a blow to the head during that fight before the shooting. I've heard of people going legitimately off the wall after a bad knock to the head.

My previous comment I had not finished the video yet. You all mentioned in different points the need for the people in the social circle to say something, etc. I basically agree. I do wanna say though at least for me and my perspective, you just don't see it coming..? Like even if the person is acting fucking nuts you just don't think it could 'really' happen, at least not to you..? Like my uncle a few months prior to his crime was acting unpredictable and violent, but we were also at the hospital while his last parent was dying. It felt withing the realm of normal grief for lack of a better description. I guess you often have an excuse for these things. "Oh he was picking fights with randos because X" and then you do look back and think... wow, anyyy of us could have said something. I don't know. I remember my vocational college had this anti-violence assembly and I was feeling some sorta weird way about it. I'd raise my hand and ask but how do you KNOW? What's wrong emotional behavior? and they had the respurce officer pull me to the side. I accidentally scared everyone... 🤦🏻

I had an uncle do a shooting/suicide a few years ago that became a local media interest. It was a single target, not a mass of victims, but still. It's weird to have any sort of relatability to these wild stories. The wife of the victim and the community at large wanted someone to pay, and so my family was followed by reporters and the story that was told was that it all happened because of the opioid epidemic. Truth be told, I never found out anything on my uncle's autopsy report if he was actually a subtance user or not, alas several details made it an easy and believable narrative to print. Very little about my family's history was known I don't think, at least not publicly. My family wanted nothing to do with interviews of course but I personally wonder how the public narrative may have unfolded if my family had said what my uncle was going through... Not that it excuses murder, but he had more reasons to be angry than one person should have to bear.

Breonna Rice

Well, that was depressing Good job covering this sorta thing with some class

I had to take a break about halfway through just to recollect my composure, due to my anger towards the sheer incompetence that the Father, and most CERTAINLY the school had committed to allow this to happen. That's how I know this was a good episode. It brought pressing concerns that are huge epidemics in American Society, while at the same time refraining from sensationalism, nor pointing the blame to ONE Noun. Excellent work fellas, I hope to see more... Well, I don't but I d- you get what I fucking mean.

a Glass of Milk (rmhj01)

Yet another stellar episode from Paul, I have to say. He chose a topic that could have been defined by sensationalism and he ended up using this issue to highlight a problem in American society that doesn’t get enough airplay. I have to say bravo to the DFF boys here, I’m very impressed with how in-depth and thoughtful this discussion became.

best episode in a long time

jack

Another great episode love watching u guys

It's the one where the racist(not hyperbole, can read it up if ya want) called Nicolaz Cruz, first posted a YT video saying his gonna shoot up his school and then did it with his AR-15 and then claimed it was "DEMONS MAN". There is an excellent video from a Criminal psychologist channel JCS about it and his interrogation "What pretending to be crazy looks like" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mwt35SEeR9w - the vid has >50 Million views and even a real life Criminal psychologist reacted to it and it said it was pretty legit (Maybe you wanna watch that instead so heres the link https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_AGrfhYsk20)

Bruh, I know that the intro was supposed to be famous shootings but as an Australian I don't remember / know whichever shooting Parkland was =/

The audio is still up

The videos gone

Ben T Dick

Good episode. You briefly mentioned Kitty Genovese, which was weird because I'd never heard of her before until I read her name mentioned in passing in relation to the Altamont Free Concert. That whole event was pretty crazy and it might make an interesting DFF episode.

Love the passion guys. Seriously, keep it goin till we can't no mo

Conner Cruz O'Brien

Speaking of the bystander effect, I just heard a news story of a woman being raped in a subway car where none of the other passengers did anything at all. No intervention no calling police. Some did record it with their phones. Here in the good ol US of A. Can’t remember where though.

Michael Wagne

One of my favorites you guys have done. I recently have been realizing how little coverage native crimes get nationally and it’s honestly really good that y’all are covering them.

Megan Gray

It's TJ. He's gonna botch everything

Brad The Patreorn

For anyone who prefers to watch on mobile I highly recommend downloading the video from the link on desktop. No special software required there's a download button native to the Vimeo page. Vimeo mobile is a nightmare.

Sev Obzen

because

Why the fuck can’t I put it in landscape mode for iphone

Dylan Brown

After looking into it further Ray Fryberg (Jaylin Frybergs Father) had his guns taken away after a domestic violence charge for assaulting his GF. He was known around the tribe and his own family as a complete arrogant bully. Probably the reason why Jaylin had a lot of mental health issues.

Rocky Alvillar

Yikes

Sam

There's a link in the description, try that as well.

Sam Charles

Dear Lord, for some reason I cannot get to it! Is it just me? This one sounds more inyeresting than usual. Too sad =(

Someguy

This just shows that shit-lib media wants it to look like shootings are done by only white males. And yes, It's primarily poc that commit most shootings anyway. 😜

Jonathan Keller

I heard of Marysville-Pilchuck cause im from Seattle. Also its pronounced too-lay-luhp for future reference.

Glad you enjoyed!
