The Deadly Reign of The DC Snipers = DFF #379

https://youtu.be/_P46iXHN0GE

Today we’re covering some multiple murderers that many have forgotten about that younger member of our audience may not have heard of. Perhaps the perpetrators’ story was less focused on because it didn’t fit neatly into the mold of either serial killing or mass shooting. Today, the DC sniper attacks get DEEP FAT FRIED!

in call of duty we just call them "campers"

Definitely one of those times in American history when racism came back to bite us, although in a somewhat different manner than usual. For once it was white guys being mainly profiled besides when it's a serial killer situation!

At the time of the crimes I remember newscasters claiming that "God" was Vietnam-era slang for snipers, but I don't know how truthful that is.

Stewart Thompson

Great episode guys. Not many podcasts do two-hour deep dives on stuff like this. I would love to see more episodes about crazy events from the early aughts that were overshadowed by the war on terror (anthrax scare, Columbia disaster, etc.).

Tito Manfredo

Really interesting guys, thank you. Incredible how they were only caught by accident. And like Paul it amazes me, that when people are caught having done things like this, the attitude is quick to punish them, rather then try to work out why they did such a thing trying to understand and prevent similar things happening in the future. The lack of trying to work out why, guarantees that things of a similar nature but yet more extreme definitely WILL happen again in the future. A testament perhaps to the stupidity that assisted to create this situation in the fist place perhaps? Anyway, what's the bet the younger guy will get off in the next few years and start up a few more cells once free.. he's had quite a few years now to plan the next phase...

I forgot this happened, that was wild

Where I'm from people are obsessed with the perfect crime, so I went on a bender researching serial killers and it is true, the DC snipers aren't covered very well. I learned plenty of things like, A:it was his ex wife for years not currently divorced. B:he was in the military not only once but twice. C:they actually taunted the police, while on documentaries they are portrayed to only be caught by chance with 0 worlds left on the crime scenes. In some documentaries they make it seem like they only got caught because of the tree stomp and the car was seen speeding off from the crime scene.

Danzo Shimura

Fantastic episode. I didnt know much about these guys and I had no idea the level of terror that they caused America. True crime shit is always the best. Great show!

Roman Douchington

Interesting show, Paul. Great job sir!

Altamonty

This was an excellent episode, I always enjoy the true crime ones.

AlabamaSasquatch

Didnt know jack about about the DC sniper other than then that title.

Over stuffed

Talking about law enforcements terrible handling of the case reminds me of the Yorkshire Ripper case in the UK. Same thing lots of evidence pointed at one guy but the police had it locked in their head he couldn't be the guy because of his accent. They caught him just like the DC sniper, by accident.

Excellent episode, great info as well!

Is this episode how you showcase Black History Month? Just a goof. Calm down, everyone.

Weez

Aaa, gotcha! Thank you!

Tj is sick so they posted the patron episode early which is a pre recorded one and Onion nuggetz will be on friday.

Rat squatch

Sorry confused.. isn’t Wednesday onion nuggets? Not complaining! Really exited to watch this , was just wondering if I missed something

if you guys want to do a second episode of this (which I would absolutely love to see) you should look into the forensic psychologist that worked, and eventually helped solve this case, you should look into Jim Clemente. This case compleatly changed the way forensic psychology built criminal profiles and changed the way we look at serial killers. I would have provided the link to the video but I'm kind of drunk and couldn't find the video of him talking about the investigation in a quick search. If I find the video when I'm sober, ill post a link to make it easier. You guys should be able to get at least a 30-minute video out of it.

Arthur Carter

Good episode so far, it's been to long since the last Serial Killer episode.

J Allen

"Yo my name is Tony Cipriano and I would like to invite you to my new restaurante Five Time Tony's. What's that mean? Come on down to Five Time Tony's and just ask me Five Time Tony."

J Allen

The Idea that the military will turn your life around is a myth they break you down psychologically so they can build you back up as a government sanctioned killer. The military just exacerbates existing mental health issues.

J Allen

The whole different branches thing is kinda bullshit they're all competing with one another for tax money. The entire military could just be one thing each branch already has specialized Jobs. Each one is called an Mos, no one actually ever told me what that abbreviates and I never looked it up. Maybe it means method of service now that I think about it.

J Allen

The national guard is already with the Army he just went full time. There's also an air national guard I assume they're Air Force but I don't know I wasn't in the Air Force.

J Allen

Holy shit. So much contento. My belly will be full after this one.

Awesome episode. So interesting.

Or perhaps the media didn’t want people to know about the DC sniper because they don’t want to romanticize the possibility of removing elite figures from power in the Minecraft capitol.
