ADX FLORENCE: America's Supermax Torture Prison

Comments

@Kyle Delancy Umm, no I don't see how it's contradictory for people who've raped innocent children and murdered people to spend the entirety of their lives living in a tiny room and to not feel sorry for them. I understand you get a huge erection thinking about how edgy and cool you are to be such a strong advocate for rapists and murderers, but it's unreasonable to care so much about their living conditions. I'm against them being tortured, obviously. But being in a small room for the rest of their lives it but a pittance for the horrifying shit they have done to innocent children and people. And I already conceded my point that Edvard made, saying that some of those people may actually be innocent. I forgot to consider that and I already admitted to that. I only said what I said originally because I just assumed that they were all proven guilty without reasonable doubt. However, keeping in mind that some of those men may actually be innocent, I agree that those rooms are too small and the living conditions are inhuman and unethical, but that's only because some of them may be innocent. If by some way of magic we could know for 100% certainty that everyone in that prison was in fact guilty for their violent crimes, then giving a shit that they live their entire lives in a tiny room is asinine. In my opinion, you're putting your energy in the wrong place. I'm not saying they should be put to death, just that it's a farcical cause to fight for and that it's ridiculous to feel sad for the rapist or murderer who doesn't have a queen size bed or a larger shower. It's fucking comical to me.

@Ava Hale Yea, I already conceded my point to this in a previous reply. You make a good point. I forgot to consider that.

Thomas H.

do you not realize that most people in the prison system are there for nonviolent drug offenses and other stupid shit? Often times people caught with too much of the wrong substance get harsher charges than actual rapists because we live in an evil country

Shiloh Jimenez

This is literally torture

Matt Schilling

You're not arguing against prison reform you just think it's "dumb" to feel sorry for rapists and murderers being stuffed in a chicken coop sized room? You don't see how that's a little contradictory? Or how that type of thought might stand in the way of making the american prison system more humane?

Kyle Delancy

Yea that is a good point Edvard. I forgot to think about that.

Thomas H.

That's a strawman fallacy Kyle. I'm not arguing against prison reform. I'm just saying that it's dumb to feel sorry for rapists and murderers who have to live in a small room for the rest of their lives because they have raped and murdered people.

Thomas H.

No way man, monkey want revenge. Monkey no want prison reform! Not one scintilla.

Kyle Delancy

You know you fucked up in life when you're sleeping on a bed of poured concrete.

Stewart Thompson

I too hoped to witness the return of John X, or the villainous BloodPuke.

Stewart Thompson

I mean, I get where you are coming from. But if they have like 300 inmates there, I bet you there is at least ONE innocent person spending the rest of his life in that type of absolute fucking torture. And that makes me think that it's too much.

Edvard Lundgren

It's hard for me to muster up even a scintilla of sympathy for the living conditions of someone who's raped dozens of innocent children or who's murdered several people. In lieu of literally being tortured, spending the entirety of one's life in a tiny room seems like a small consequence for the shit these people have done, for the lives they have ended and the families they have ruined.

Thomas H.

Lets get a part 2 on US prisons

This is my favorite episode in the last few weeks, nice work as always.

I was a CO at georgias high max SMU next to it’s in processing Jackson. Like the episode. It’s always evident you put a lot into your show. And it’s true that prison is not about wanting to hurt COs or offenders. It’s just how it is because of the reality of a monster like social life born way before any current offender or CO and current organizational politics both legal and criminal and we have no good answers.

Aaron

I'm not sure if this is really a correction since this episode was probably recorded before this happened, but Ted Kaczynski was transferred to a prison in North Carolina back in December.

Great episode👍 best for weeks, would love to see more like this

Billy Southward

Here I thought John X had returned to the show but that famous serial killer will never be found.

Florence Colorado

Brad The Patreorn

You know it’s the worst when they derive the name from a nice place in Italy.
