The song at the start of the film is actually a folk song from the village where I grew up - Lambton. The song is called 'The Lambton Worm' ( not D'Ampton). It was a local legend, incorporating local landmarks like Penshaw Hill. The 'worm' - in the guise of a dragon - was, and still is, the logo of my primary school. It was on all the school shirts.

Ken Russell was so underappreciated as a director, The Devils is his best film. You guys should watch Liquid sky its on Amazon prime I think. It's a avante garde 80's flick about models and drugs, its crazy.
