TOP 10 80's HORROR MOVIES = DFF

On tonight's episode of DFF, we stack up the best of the best 80's horror!

TOP 10 80's HORROR MOVIES = DFF

Comments

There's also a review I did on my channel about Day of the Dead.

Darth Douchebag

I was absolutely thrilled by '80s horror movies and squealed with delight when you guys mentioned my favorite horror movie of all time, 1985's day of the dead. George Romero actually had a much broader vision for the movie and the final product was a much more condensed version of his original script. I'm actually planning to film a series of videos on my YouTube channel where I do a read-through of the original script in front of a fire. With sound effects and music added in post.

Darth Douchebag

Any plans to restore the backlog?

Nicholas Pearson

Yes, because our Vimeo account was suspended

PESSIMIST PRODUCTIONS

The video has been removed.

Yessuh

Where is Fright Night ???

Matthew Jury

I watched Unfriended on mushrooms. That shit was terrifying.

Samtar

The Killer Klowns theme song is by The Dickies.

REVERSE CENTAUR

Here's a concept. The Blob vs. The Thing. Which would come out on top?

SamiDC

You guys love what you do don't you. The reason these films of the 80's and 90's were so great is because it required teams of real artists, the best of their crafts, to create ACTUAL THINGS... monsters that were real and made of materials and moved real... make up that looked real... I'll take muppets and claymation over cartoon CGI shit any day, I hate CGI. I can always tell... with this stuff it was just REAL. There will be a return to it too. People of the next generation are going to look back at all this classic stuff and want to learn how it was done and do it again. We'll be 60 years old or dead quite frankly when this cycle comes back around but meh...

Jonathan

I'm not really a horror guy. its not really a genre that I'm into and out of all these movies from this video I've only seen 3 of them; Evil Dead 2, The Thing, and The Shining. the ladder of which I just watched for the first time a couple hours ago. and The Thing I watched just before this video came out. Out of all of these i wasn't really scared by but the the first 2 I was thoroughly entertained. The Shining I found extremely atmospheric and exceptionally well made. Out of these three I would say that I like The Thing the most and even though I only saw it for the first time recently, its quickly becoming one of my favorite films of all time.

Kyle Patrick

Also, do Top 10 Horror Movies of the 90's. I'm not even sure what quality horror movies even came out of the 90's so I guess I'd find it pretty informative.

Nicholas Pearson

I can understand the decision for #1, it was objectively the most finely crafted, but for me #3 was the scariest of them all, and that to me earns the top spot.

Nicholas Pearson

Both Nightmare 1 and Dream Warriors also hold a special place in my heart. DW's being my favorite movie of all time.

James Knight

Aliens, there isnt a movie that scared me more than this one. My uncles were watching it at least once week and I had to watch it with them and I couldnt sleep after. I ve got nightmares and was scarred to walk in darkness. Adding the fact that we lived in on the edge of town deep in woods. Now? Its my favourite movie ever. I have to watch it every two weeks.

Michał Rutkowski

I agree about Unfriended! I remember thinking how unusual and innovative it was at the time. Same with 'Under The Skin'.

Miss Sophie Lilith

Loved that one too, saw it many times as a kid.

Danny Van Hecke

where the fuck is cannibal holocaust?

A Davidson

How is it possible no one even mentioned Fright Night? Can’t change who ya are I guess. #FeelsBadMan

Fuck you patreon

God damnit Paul, you got me to watch Unfriended and now I wish I was dead

DestWa

Rushed the final 10 minutes, could tell y'all wanted to bail on the episode once you got to numbering them, but it was long so can't complain too much.

Ed-boy

Top 10 Comedians

Nikolas Seamans

I assumed there was a reason, but it’s getting to be annoying. Vimeo doesn’t do well with audio only, and if I lose signal for even a second the video crashes and I’ve had to start the video over multiple times already.

JC Stevenson

They played clips of video for multiple seconds at a time though. If they tried to stream this, YouTube would immediately shut it down.

Optimus Prime

You guys need to figure out where to stream from and be consistent. This is getting old. Vimeo is trash and I’m tired of not being able to listen only.

JC Stevenson

TJ is utterly retarded about American Werewolf in London, but loves Child's Play?

Matt Schilling

In the beginning of maximum overdrive, it says that only American machines were affected. They had a Japanese car.

Jeremy .

Is there literally any other streaming site then Vimeo? I can stream from Youtube, Twitch, Netflix, etc all fine. However Vimeo wants to buffer every ten seconds. It sucks.

Drake Ark

I would rate my films by those I make a point of reseeing every year. In no order of import, but as they appeared in this video: Killer Klowns Pumpkinhead The Gate Nightmare on Elm Street Elm Street 3 Child's Play (scared the hell out of me as a kid) Evil Dead 2 (one of the greatest horror-comedies ever made)

Jack of Tears

Good list but took off too many that belongs in top 10. Child's play, day of the dead, killer clowns and the fly belong on the list.

Booze and Bullshit Show

This was so awesome I love 80’s horror. Happy you included great classics like evil dead, killer clowns, and the thing. I was hoping to see Cannibal Holocaust and Dead Alive mentioned here too but still great. Love your picks.

Erin Eevee

Need audio pls

Bear

Night of the Living Dead zombies are actually able to be killed with no adverse side effects with electricity

Matt Schilling

Best episode yet in my opinion. Should do an episode on disturbing movies next. (Serbian Film, Cannibal Holocaust, etc.)

Zayo Dadong

Honestly, I prefer the older style list vids you guys would do. Where you would all start throwing shit out there, and then argue viciously over your perspectives. The top 10 monsters and top 10 rock songs ones in particular, were the best lists you did IMO

SammieSomething

Ah man my favorite part of the list videos is the intense duking it out that happens. But it was a long, content filled episode anyway so thanks guys

Brandon Dester

It doesn't encapsulate the spirit of 80s horror at all. Is it the best horror movie to come out in the 1980s? Yes. Is it the best 80s horror movie?? Eh.

I got scammed by three neckbeards

It was obvious The Shining was gonna win but it feels almost by technicality since it would of been filmed in 79. The film looks and feels so 70's but I suppose a 1980 release date is a 1980 release date.

Hieronymus

TOP 10 STONER MOVIES

Mark

Good shit

Mdxfiend

On the theme of Ripley being a great feminist character, Paul might want to check out Sargon of Akkad's channel before doing an hour long video on it.

Beezhto Lazawoski

Dude I love being a patron of you guys.

HEREISNEGAN

From Beyond is FUCKING. AWESOME. Watch it.

Bigass Frog

Bring back masked Not-Paul

Chris X

You are retarded

Kid Wizard

Prefer the other way the list episodes have been done but this still giving me a decent erection

James Green

Evil Dead 2? Really? Not even the first Evil Dead up for consideration? The original Evil Dead is a legitimate horror movie. Evil Dead 2? Evil Dead 2 is barely even a horror movie. It's basically a goofy, zany, comedy action movie with spooky elements, Evil Dead 2 is as scary as a haunted house with a 50 dollar budget and all the props are bought from wal-mart. Evil Dead 2 is like Zombieland with demons. Evil Dead 2 is a comedy, putting it on the list when you could of put Evil Dead 1 is heresy, heresy I say! All three of you lose horror connoisseur credibility points, lol.

Pee Pee Von Diarrheastein

They may be feeling tired because they're recording 3 weeks of episodes in a short amount of time so they can do some renovations to the studio and the DD&DD set

Paul Duncan

A TOP 10 !!

brock

Awesome video guys!

Thomas H.

finally another top 10. love it

s10w10rr1s

Glad to se Paul doing well! (And the other guys too lol).

Cafelattis1994

Dude, that abortion scene in The Fly though... Holy fuck.

Elizabeth Ann Duffy

Please do a list of 90s horror

Nocturnes and preludes

Audio link, perhaps? Can't open link. Door stuck.

Beezhto Lazawoski

I would have liked to see The Thing as #2 and The Return of the Living Dead #3 but besides that I agree with all other picks on this list and how they were numbered

Nicholas Hamilton

DFF Stephen King. I am sure you all have read enough King and seen enough movies to do the episode.

KawaiiGiggle

I second this wholeheartedly, 90s is great, but the 70’s has some standout genre defining films. My personal favorites besides the ones listed here have to be eraserhead, dawn of the dead, suspiria, the nosferatu remake, and the wicker man

Mecha

Army of Darkness was in the 90s

Mecha

I think Paul may have suffered some severe brain damage when taking that fall. No one other than a mentally handicapped individual could possibly have a positive opinion on the movie Unfriended.

Not A Computer

its really hard to make a list for this decade there was so many great horror films i the 80's

Jason the Historian

door stuck

Beezhto Lazawoski

Man what are your thoughts of Army of Darkness it is one of my all time fav movies (though is it horror?). Also the list was awesome and at times just listening to the music and the trailers genuinely creeped me out. The 80s were a golden age for fun.

Restitutor Orbis

King Was “coked out of his mind and didn’t know what he was doing” according to....King

Wilbur Whateley

As a fellow defender of Unfriended, I stand with Paul. It's visceral concept and the direction they took with it, especially with the main character, is unique and scary.

Awesomehardcorebadass69

Maximum Overdrive is pretty garbage.

Sebastian

Can someone post a direct link? can't seem to get to work when i click the player on patreon.

Beezhto Lazawoski

Just_A_Guy

tj is officially retarded for not liking american werewolf in london

Sven K

Links broken guys

Dominik Kennedy

Some trailers need that narrator dude..Apple keeps advertising their new stream bullshit but I can’t tell what the fuck is happening in any of their shows. And it’s a commercial so we already turn our brain half off anyway.

Rants n rambles

Between The Return of the Living Dead & Creepshow... 80s horror was so special.

Nicholas Montano

unfriended has a very original concept but it's presented like it was directed by a 70 year old who has never used a computer.

Sven K

I actually would love to see a list of the 70s over the 90s. The 70s was a fantastic decade for horror movies, with some of my personal favorites being Carrie, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, and The Exorcist.

love you paul

Turd Sucker

click the button on the top middle of the vimeo player you degenerate

Jordan Zucaro

why not just an unlisted youtube link? cant theater view here im mad bro fuck you im too drunk for this shitt

Sven K

Good show tonight, glad to see Paul rolling again!

Sage Patrus

Audio you scammers

Jon-Claude Marquee

I’ve always just used an HDMI to connect my laptop to the TV. I know it’s not what you asked for, but it’s the best thing I’ve figured out

Brandon Marthers

A dream episode would be to see you do a Top 10 Movies Of All Time list and narrow it down from hundreds of entries. The flame war and debate between the three of you would be great to watch.

Todd Newton

Is there any way to watch these on a Roku device, or nVidia Shield?

NX

THE NOBODIES?! IT'S THE FUCKING DICKIES, ONE OF THE BEST FIRST WAVE PUNK BANDS OF ALL TIME. You fat fucks are chafing my thighs tonight. God damnit.

Xenos Nassar

The Mount Fuji story is even more tragic than you’re giving it credit for here. You say he should wear a go pro just to keep his hands free? Dude, not only that, but climbing an ice covered mountain anytime outside of a scant few months around summer requires much more technical training and equipment than this guy had. This guy thought he could just waltz into nature without any consequences. It’s like they believe they are living in a video game. Ugh. He didn’t even have someone with him to spot him as he climbed. Danger doesn’t disappear when we pretend it doesn’t exist. It’s time to take on the one percent. You know who it’s worth voting for...do it.

Dr. Spin

yall should watch that for a cinema for cynics

Jason Madrid

Scotty representing from beyond!!

Jason Madrid

No Re-Animator? Losers.

Xenos Nassar

Top 10 Historical Badasses: Men's Division and Women's Division.

Ryan Gondek

OH SHNAP! This gunna be a good one!

Tectonica

Suggestion for a drinking game for this video: Every time someone says 'Practical effects', you drink. At best, you'll end up with the hangover of the century.

Martin Duplessis

Paul Lives! I think some people in the DFF Death pool owe me some money..

danieljohnyerke

Totally unrelated, but I would love to see DFF invasive species or a top ten species hunted to extinction

Brandon Marthers

YES! A TOP TEN LIST!

You guys are the highlight of every Monday and Friday. Hope Paul’s feeling better.

Brandon Marthers

Fuck yeah
