I don't really understand the reasons for Paul to like that Joe Biden reach across the isle bullshit. Does he not remember how republicans during Obama's tenure of president was just saying "NO" to damn near anything he tried to push through. Obamacare was a product of that reach across the isle mentality, the very thing that Paul is so quick to jump down the back of. Joe Biden wants that exact same thing that happened to Obama to happen to him as president (hence this statement) cause then he gets to do basically nothing and then blame his lack of progress and action on the republican side. I agree with TJ, the political tribes of this country are too far from each other now to compromise on almost anything in this country. The only thing I can see reaching across the isle with republicans is on the issue of gun control. Which counts for a large part of the republican voting base more than I think people realize.

I’m Canadian, obviously, and at the job I work, and I’m only allowed to call in sick for one 24 hour period in a month. If I show any consistent behaviour of doing so, or call in for anything beyond that meagre stretch of time, I’m required to present a doctor’s note, which wastes the doctor’s fucking time and clogs up the clinic. If I refuse I’m practically guranteed to have pretty harsh clapbacks, ultimately having the potential of me getting fired. I understand the reasoning behind not letting a person book sick literally every week, but in my small town of 5,000 we have 8 people laid off at work currently. They could cover lost work for fuck sake, nevermind the 10 people the company has on constant 24/7 standby for just such an occasion as someone is booked off. It’s fucking moronic. I’m sacrificing my pay to be off. I’m unsure what other punishment needs to be given, unless again as I said you call in every few weeks.
