2023 Revitalization and Patrons Q&A

Summary: LIVE public Onion Nuggetz followed by a private Grease Trap on Mondays and Fridays with ALL hosts. One of those Fridays will be replaced by a Patreon exclusive LIVE MEGASHOW - this month it will be an Andrew Tate Gauntlet on the 27th. Patreon exclusive streams on Wednesdays with their respective hosts - TJ for Abandon Hope, Paul for Highdeology, Scotty for You're Wrong, both Kirks for Fighting Boys. After 4 weeks of Onion Nuggetz and private streams, we will take one week off livestreaming to plan for the next month and recharge, and then the cycle will repeat. During that week, only you patrons will get content in the form of a traditional pre-recorded Deep Fat Fried episode. Single topic episodes are pretty much going away besides that one a month, but we will experiment with working them in as segments in Onion Nuggetz.

2023 Revitalization and Patrons Q&A

Comments

I hope they will revisit some of the older shows and maybe do some more sequels .. or that the once a month single topic shows will just be so much higher quality that they will be rewatchable like some of my old favorites.

The only problem I have with this (and I ultimately like it) is that I enjoyed re-watching older episodes, and with Onion Nuggetz mostly being about current events, I can't see myself re-watching the weekly news. I still love everything you guys do and can totally see this being a net positive for the show as a whole. I'll just be sad to see the timeless topics getting lost in the shows with just dates as titles.

I remember the old long ass QNA videos TJ putting out being an exciting very exciting. I love me some tangents when I'm playing video games.

Fuck giving the CCP money. Tick tok is tencent aka Chinese government. IF greed is the motive go for it if not don't

I might stay for grease traps, but my biggest issue is the move to current event coverage (Onion Nuggetz) with only the occasional deep dive into specific topics, and I'm sorry guys but I personally cannot stand the coverage you guys have on current events, and one reason why I never watched Flash Fried. I understand and respect that it is your private business decision, but I just don't know. I want to stick around and see where things go, but the main draw for me was always DFF, even if it a topic I wasn't interested in I'd still listened and sometimes end up enjoying it (like Paul's wee folk episode, which turned out to be really interesting and funny). I'll stay for a while. Plus I'd still have the back log to enjoy whenever I want too. Thank you for being understanding with my concern.

We are moving in the direction we feel is best for our show. Onion Nuggetz will often feature content like past episodes of DFF. For example last week we covered the rise of AI specifically focusing on AI-generated art and the further implications of this advancing technology. With that being said it's up to you what creators and projects you support. We also give patrons an exclusive grease trap after each episode of Onion Nuggetz. On our off week, we publish a classic-style episode of DFF. Thank you for your feedback on these changes.

PESSIMIST PRODUCTIONS

If this is just going to be exclusively Onion Nuggetz, which I don't watch, then I'm done here. I come here for DFF. DFF is the main course, and now you are making the sides front menu. And I hate the gauntlet format because if it's a topic I don't like/care about then that means my money has been spent on a product I cannot use/enjoy. I'm sorry guys but if this is the new direction then I'm dipping out.

A gauntlet of TJ & Paul's old YouTube antagonists. Scotty picks all the content.

I think they're in their experimental Bowie stage trying to adapt to the modern sound so to speak.

J Allen

I also noticed that it's in the Onion Nuggetz playlist, so anyone who opens that playlist can still watch it.

The Rudy episode has to be a classic deep fat frying. The gauntlet format would not be good for the Rudy episode.

I also enjoyed how back in 2018 Paul would join tj on abandon hopes. I would definetly be game for that again. This crew can do little wrong 🤘

Hey y’all, not sure if y’all look at these after a certain time but the onion nuggetz strategy where y’all go live for everyone and then pull it only for patrons will not work because A) the plebs can thumbs up the stream when it’s live and access it any time through their likes playlist and B) if they have the notification bell turned on, they can still access it at any time with the push notification. It’s a cool idea but I suggest y’all rethink that as it makes it worthless for us patrons.

Pro: The side streams being moved from Saturday to Wednesday hopefully means that the guys (mainly the Kirk brothers) will be more consistent about doing them. Con: I'm mainly here for DFF, so I'm kinda pissed that they've been reduced from 8 or 9 a month to just one or two. I like Onion Nuggetz, but not enough for it to be the main show. I'll give this a chance, but I don't see myself being a patron after this month.

The top 10 worst TJ videos. Compile the 20 worst and trim it down like the 24 hour streams. OR go down Steelmanville road.

Piers Morgan gauntlet.

it's technically your 6th year doing the show, but you started 5 full years ago. I've been with y'all since April 2014, and can still remember when I asked Paul if he was gonna be on TJ's new Podcast back in the first few days of 2018. How time flies by. :)
