David Lynch is definitely a divisive director. Having seen all of his major work I have to say, I hate it. I really didn’t like Twin Peaks but we had a David Lynch challenge among my friend group to see who could make it through the most movies/shows. I know people who love him but honestly I think they are doing most of the heavy lifting by investing meaning and symbolism into characters and stories that quite frankly make no sense. But I’m not going to say don’t watch it, it will definitely be a memorable experience either way.

Also, the show keeps going on and on about what a special person she was and how everybody loved her; when the only reason given for people liking her is because she pretty. I liked The Return better because it focused on other characters who are far more interesting than teary-eyed Laura.
