AI will be something people discuss but I doubt it'll be a scapegoat that replaces people. Folks are more concerned with nonsensical social issues that essentially equate to them hating freedom while espousing how much they love it, because social issues are an easy refuge for the intellectually lazy and uninformed masses. The world has real problems, but States would rather spend millions of dollars at legislature worrying about an extremely tiny percentage of the population in sports than the thousands of people living under their freeways in cardboard cities and other real problems their country is facing. People are more concerned with talking and studying the lore of fictious universes, spending years of their life, and thousands of hours dedicated to studying Star Wars and Lord of the Rings while they ignore the world around them, and often their opinions amount to "politicians are corrupt". Well, the corruption will never go away because the overwhelming majority of the population never tries to get involved to actually insure they're held accountable: spending time talking about the imaginary science of Light Sabers and Kyber-crystals is vastly more important to them, or gushing about how smart Bat-man is.
