They see Russia's war machine as Russian non violent domestic policy. Conflict won't end after invasion either. Russia is one of the most unequal countries in the world. They want to steal resources and oppress Ukrainians. In order to be anti-war, you have to be support the ending of war. Anti intervention in this is case is about the most prowar/pro Russia and (most importantly) anti humanitarian stance you can take.

I'm sorry, but that really doesn't make the democrats seem all that bad to me, a trans person. My safety hinges on keeping these insane assholes out of power, I don't care that they are economically the fucking same, my safety is directly threatened by republican theocratic power. You three all have an immense privilege in being able to sit there not worried about which way the wind blows on this, but I don't. We must keep republicans out. I want so desperately for progressivism to take a stronger root within the party, to pressure them to the left, and we must keep up that fight. I have to vote blue in the general though, millions of us have to, for our own safety. I'd rather be in poverty than dead.

We should only be helping evacuate people who aren't staying behind to fight, and provide shelter for the refugees. Land is not as important as people.

Or maybe if they'd live in one of the post sovet countries for a while, i mean it's not that bad, we got decent healthcare, almost affordable housing etc.

As of today, Howard said he is back on good terms with Maher after they spoke. Of course, Howard claims that Maher apologized to him. More likely, Stern was told to go make nice because all Stern does is chase celeb relationships. 2023-09-27 01:45:15 +0000 UTCUkraine was seeking an alliance with NATO do they wouldn't get invaded. They had no interest in "encroaching" on Russian land. I'm at a loss for an explanation of why they would frame Ukraine as the aggressors. That goes a little beyond anti-interventionism. Is every country that doesn't want to be invaded is now actively aggressive and open to eastern war machines?? I don't think that's a world anyone wants to live in besides a handful of Russian and Chinese oligarchs.

Its been better that they started saying they arent professionals and keep comments to a minimum as talking about stuff that is complex and not having the context adds to confusing and misinformation to a time senstive conrflict.
