Russian Jackal

Damn .. Russian Jackal you described my life . I’m 34 going on 35 and what you wrote … you had to be there to believe it . We were . You push those memories out. Eventually you start thinking it was a bad dream . It’s bittersweet but it’s nice to “ meet” someone who went through the same stuff. Thank you for the share friend 💪

Chic-fil-A sucks. I'll never understand the hype for that place.

Err

On the declining birth rates in Russia, from personal experience: I’m from Moscow originally, and am 37 at the time of this video. My childhood occurred during a time period generally referred to as “the wild 90’s”, right after the collapse of the Soviet Union. For the first time since WW2, straight up hunger returned to the country. On top of that, organized crime became worse than Nal Hutta, and if you had a business, owned property, or were connected to money in any way, you paid protection. Period, and without question. There were recently homeless people everywhere, and public parks were littered with used needles (we as dumb-ass-kids used them as water guns). Old widows of WW2 veterans would sell their husbands’ medals, uniforms and memorabilia in open-air markets to make ends meet. Every evening of the 1st of September (official start day of school in Russia), Edna-Krabappel-looking women stood outside the subway stations with buckets of bouquets. They were teachers, selling the flowers given to them by the students just so they could put something on the table for their families in the evening. Everything was complete ass, and it was ruled by a straight-up perpetual drunk, who would glug down enough booze to prevent him from standing straight, and then make decisions and sign documents in such a condition. Check with “The Springfield Files” episode of the Simpsons to see that “Boris Yeltsin” is a category of intoxication on Moe’s breathalyzer. One of the shittiest things that happened to my generation is that a lot of us were born for no reason, without plans, into poverty, and with little care. For all its faults, the USSR had a good social safety net when it came to kids, and fairly high birth rates post WW2. My generation from the late 80s-early 90s lived in a shitty economy, predominantly single-parent homes, poverty, horrific inflation, and all the other fun factors of a nation that was struggling to rebuild. As you can imagine, such conditions didn’t contribute that much to happy and loving parents/families. So by the time a lot of us reached 20s and 30s, standard child-baring ages, we took a bitter nostalgic look at our own kid years, and went “FUUUUUUUUUUUCK THAT!” (Completely logically and understandably by the way). And here come the consequences…… P.S. I’m sure that our beloved hosts and devoted audience realize this, but all of the super fun conditions and activities from the first paragraph - they-re-a’ comin’. Let’s hope DFF will still be around for the much needed commentary based on grim humor.

Paul, don't forget to manage your finances better.

I do think Vaush is "right" on needing to play the game to win the game but dang I wonder where the incremental optimism will go when Florida gets cockslapped by a storm similar to Otis. There is no incremental approach to a tropical storm making landfall as a cat5 within 24 hours with no models to predict it. We're literally at the "get the fuck out you fucking retards, you will die horribly" stage and people STILL think it's a good idea to move to low elevation coastal cities and deserts. If the heat is killing the cactuses and melting Taco Bell signs then it's time to find somewhere else retard.

People I have dated liked my music but I have a "manly" taste in music. When I saw my favorite band in concert (Between the Buried and Me) it was 90% fat prog dudes.

I am torn between commending gen z for their forward thinking and passion, and my learned cynicism for the process. They'll eventually learn incrementalism is never going to work and we have to hit rock bottom before things get better. Slowly pushing it down the line is no solution. Otherwise there will always be another trump/fascist. We have to destroy it at the roots. Vaushs claim to simply give it time is fanciful with the speed at which the globe is burning, change needs to happen immediately. Not sure where the disconnect is there with voosh

Lo and Behold

Entertaining as fuck 6 hour show with all goals blasted through? I'd say the viewers won.
