Since light has a speed limit, it takes light time to go a specific distance. The longer that distance the longer light takes to reach it. What this means is that if you look out into space, the further away you look the further back in time you're seeing. The "edge" of the universe is the distance that light can travel between the time the universe first became transparent to today. If you move the edge will move with you, always appearing the same distance away. You can think of it like holding a flashlight in a very dark room. You'll never be able to reach the "edge" of the light. As you walk holding the flashlight, the spot where no more of the light is shining moves with you and is always a constant distance away.
