Mark Zuckerberg is just rebranding other peoples shit. He's rebranding remote work and he rebranded VRchat by making his own version of it. He's somehow less original than Hollywood movies.

I relate to the stomach virus guy. I did shit my breeches but I got salmonella from a McDonalds grill cook that... let's say should've had a coffee or two before taking over the grill. In other words, I learned my order was undercooked the hard way

Also, you’re a fucking moron if you have allowed yourself to see every war through the lens of the Iraq invasion. Sorry, but not all scenarios are the same. Sometimes, the U.S. can arrive at a morally good position, in spite of their intent.

You understand that the only way for negotiations to even start is for Russia to be defeated militarily right? Because aside from that, Putin has stated that the Russian STARTING position is the acceptance of the annexation of Ukrainian land and the dissolution of NATO. How exactly, do you get to a “diplomatic” solution to that without first a military victory?

A lot of butthurt zoomers here who haven't lived through a 20 year war yet lol Paul is right about Ukraine and seeking DIPLOMATIC ending to the war. He never said "let Putin take over Ukraine". Maybe the troglodytes will wake up when it's been 10 years of funding a proxy war that continues to kill Ukrainians and drain our coffers. Would be a lot less suffering if Putin took over or they had done more diplomacy

There was alot of proxy war shit going with the us in ww2 but mostly because they had internal legislation enforcing neutrality. They still found ways around that like building airstrips that crossed the border and landing warplanes on them, and then not paying attention as the RCAF "stole" the planes and flew them away on the canadian side of the border

The thing is, most of what they’ve said on this is demonstrably untrue. They don’t want to be informed of the reality of the situation at this point. I really don’t understand that unwillingness to engage with the facts of the situation or do even a modicum of research. Instead, they default to “AMERICA BAD” and that’s the end of it.

@Mugiwara I don't really disagree with any of your points. Well thought out response.
Yeah, I don't know how we solve the problem, I just find it interesting as to how we got to this point. A lot of people are too caught up in the 'now' and pay no attention to our past. Queue Santayana's cliche quote. People approach the topic like its black and white and it's frustrating.
The cats out of the bag so this really only ends one way. War. It's just matter of how long we can postpone the inevitable. Remembering how these issues have escalated in the past might help prevent making the same mistakes in the future, giving us more time for peace.

@MiguwaraMurphy
They are free to want to join NATO, but doing so can be seen as aggressive to a country that does not want the enemy directly on their border and has made threats on the matter in the past. There are consequences to eastern expansion of NATO.
If Mexico decided to join an alliance with Russia, how would the United States respond? We have some idea right, because that's what happened with Cuba and the Soviet Union in the early 60's, which led to the missile crisis. Now imagine if Russia somehow made a deal with Mexico and Canada and retained Cuba as an ally, we'd easily have a new war because the U.S. would be uncomfortable with enemy influence so close to their border and so easily capable of invading. We'd want to assert dominance and kick Russia out of those alliances.
The line between support and proxy comes down to weapons and money. If you're supplying weapons or the money to buy them, you're funding a proxy war. If you're giving food and medical supplies, then that's just humanitarian aid. You cross the line from humanitarian aid to proxy war when you start giving money and guns to a nation fighting your enemy.

Vietnam WAS a proxy war between the USA and it's allies vs the USSR and China. The stated goal of the war was to stop the spread of communism and Soviet influence in Asia, not because we just decided we wanted to go lose 58,000 Americans and kill like 2,000,000 Vietnamese in the jungle because we thought it sounded cool. The Ukraine war is being fought in part for very similar reasons, Putin doesn't want American and EU influence expanding just as we didn't want Russia's expanding, and still don't. Hence why we give Ukraine billions of dollars of weaponry. It's a textbook proxy war, dummy.

I've been a patron from the beginning and I never though I would say this but the dudes(Paul) needs to talk less about international politics. Paul's Ukraine takes are so bad it's making me question why I'm still paying.
I have no problem with Scotty doing his best to defend his cohost but TJ has become increasingly supportive of Paul's views which makes him sound almost as retarded. I would like to see them debate someone who has opposite views about this and not just circle jerk.

The problem is paul sometimes uses specific terms in a generalized way on stuff that he doesn't fully understand. If he said that ukraine was a continuation of a long series of regional conflicts between these ethnic groups i don't think anyone would disagree with that, but he chose to phrase it as "civil war" which has a more specific implication. And then the pedantic nature of people causes that to hijack the entire conversation into semantics.

I don't agree with Paul's take that it's a civil war. But I do think it's a proxy war, at least to a degree. America supplies Ukraine with the intent to weaken Russia, with the ultimate goal of further expanding NATO just as they have always wanted.

Going to have to join the 700 others who have hemorrhaged from the Patreon and unsub. This lazy ass two person format is fucking dull as fuck, with Paul ranting and having nuclear-retarded takes. Dude is so fucking uneducated it’s gross. He thinks his high school education is equivalent to two years in college somehow, but in reality the motherfucker wouldn’t last one semester due to his inability to be objective and conduct unbiased research.
Nice job pushing away what pitiful fan base you accumulated. Don’t know how you’ll grift enough to afford the living expenses of 6 adults and their pets without getting a normal job, but good luck retards.
