2025-01-29 03:18:45 +0000 UTCI picked one hell of a time to spark a joint and listen to a patron episode. Very interesting guys. I was confused about what TJ meant when he was describing chaos magic. At first I thought it was part of a character, now I realize that there is a more serious intentionality behind this. I'm also interested in Paul's takes on wu-way. Forgive me if I spelled that wrong. I have dabbled in meditation, particularly as cognitive behavioral therapy. Breathing is a big part of that. It wasn't until I went to a therapist that I came to realize how erratic my breathing really was. How much of my anxiety was directly correlated to that. I'm learning over time to be more aware of it so that it becomes like Paul described, just a natural flow. No longer having to focus on my breathing, but rather maintaining it effectively that it becomes second nature.

The ability to be able to hear such concise theories, thoughts, feelings, and beliefs is so satisfying. This gives me so much to think about in my own time and I really hope you gues do several more episodes like this.

2024-12-15 20:32:30 +0000 UTCI discovered sam harris at 16 and started mindfulness meditation as an escape from my natural tendency to think about other high schoolers opinions of me. Accompanying my new ability to reset my brain activity with the beliefs that free will and god dont exist allowed me to basically rid myself of in the moment over stimulation. (Getting so embarrased in class at the simple act of speaking that my face would turn red) but ive found that the most useful skill aquired after years of mindfulness meditation is the abilility to immediately remove my ego from chaotic situations such as a heated debate or a homeless person acting crazy, and simply restrain from my intuitive response to these situations. Most of the time im able to remind myself mid conversation that im just a brain. Emotions exist. Time to attempt to think out my response better. Also paul mentioned one time that he wishes he played piano. I play piano. I find that learning a song that i love deeply, So much that i basically have it memorized before learning it, is one of the ultimate experiences of being in the moment. Im often purely euphoric. Astonished that im playing such beautiful music. I would love to see paul attempt an instrument and experience the deep in the moment euphoria of playing music
