10 Pound Bowling Balls Atop Wavy Sacks of Ooze

Hello!

I am experiencing a new obstacle in my ooze sack and so will shoot off a quick update about my body. The last postural change I made to finally feel good and strong in my body (and start using it correctly), was fixing my incorrect cervical nod. I had what some might call "forward head syndrome," often acquired through lots of computer life or looking down at your phone. For me, it was actually a major rib flare that caused my neck to my forward in comparison to my spine. Once I fixed my flaring ribs and moved my upper torso down into alignment, the forward neck was much more apparent.

I spent the past 8 or so months "packing" my neck and elongating up and back to fix my forward head. This left my neck a little bit vulnerable, as I was stretching out muscles in my throat and back of neck faster than I was gaining muscle strength in my upper shoulders and sides of my neck. That means that I had been struggling in the intermediate lack of stability for a fair bit. Totally manageable until I got stuck on a 6 hour flight with high turbulence and thus restricted cabin-roaming. I felt pretty sore for the first couple weeks in Virginia, but was still able to manage things.

Last Saturday I was involved in an electric scooter accident on my way to the gym to do my core stabilizing goodness. A van pulled out in front of my from behind some bushes and I ran into the side going 20 mph. I experienced a few cute and bruising and whiplash in my neck, straining the muscle and tearing some fibers in the back of my neck. It will take a few weeks to heal and I am on bed rest for a couple of days. The pain is presenting as cervicogenic headaches in the back of my head and causing me to vomit which makes shooting hard. No shit!

The upside- I'll be forced to do some editing that I have been putting off! I have also learned a lot more about my neck and what different types of injuries feel like and how to protect myself in the future. Neato.

Thanks to everyone for their ongoing support! I'm stoked to get right and take advantage of being close to lots of other artists as well as grabbing some of these opportunities that have already presented themselves in 2020.

Be well. Respect the vessel.

xx Prana
