*EARLY* (FULL/UNCUT) SKAM France 3x04 REACTION - "The Boy Who Was Afraid of The Dark"

Looks like you missed the symbolism of Eliott's short film "Polaris". A man and a "creature (Pansexuals are valid) in a tunnel that tame and connect despite the difference between their two worlds. The theme of shadow and light is super important throughout Season 3. Lucas is the creature in the shadows who is afraid of the light (he's in the closet and afraid of coming out). Eliott is in the light and afraid of the dark (not really a spoiler when you know the character of Even). The attraction between the two is obvious (I'm hot !!!) but Eliott doesn't force it. He wants the "creature" to overcome his fear of the dark and get out of the tunnel. Eliott takes Lucas to his "special place" which is currently a disused tunnel of Paris. He plays with his flashlight and it actually looks like a game between shadow and light, ON / OFF! Music, ON / OFF! The almost kiss, ON / OFF! Until Lucas comes out of the tunnel and reproduces all the gestures of the creature from Eliott's film, especially the fingers that intertwine. At this point, Eliott KNOWS that his feelings are mixed, because this gesture is the exact reproduction of Polaris. The tunnel, the shadow and the light, the man and the creature. Lucas has just confessed his love to him without any words simply by reproducing the gestures of "polaris". The tension is so strong that they finally surrender to each other. And that makes THE BEST KISSING SCENE IN THE WORLD. Sorry for the pavement, but it had to come out !!!

The rain/mingling of fingers was a direct reference to Elliot's kickstarter animation project, Polaris. So while it was a cinematic moment, it was also Lucas showing Elliot that he had done his research on Elliot, and he had been waiting for this.
