i noticed :(( i just started shortening the youtube reactions a tad and it seems to be working! as long as i stay within the laws of fair use i should be good. but the patreon reactions will stay the same! still full and uncut :)

Yeah, true. Skam has been really good for artists like Riopy, Peaches, and Gabrielle. But when it comes to the huge artists like Kanye labels make a lot off them through what's called "snychronization" fees. That's what it's called anytime the music is used in advertisements, tv shows, movies, video games, etc. etc

It's so dumb especially because it is free advertisement for their music. Just look at the official music video pages on YouTube. So many Skam related comments.

As you've noticed, Skam is one of the most "blocked" shows ever on Youtube. Every Skam reactor has had to deal with it... Apparently this is a music licensing issue. When Julie Andem was making the show, she did a licensing deal with the labels to use the songs you hear in the show--but this licensing deal granted her the rights to use the music only for a Norwegian audience. (At the time, Skam aired only in Norway, and then later Sweden.) Anyway, Julie didn't have the rights for GLOBAL licensing...but once the show hit the internet, it of course became global...and the greedy labels came after the show because they wanted more money now that the music was being heard by a larger audience... Skam didn't have more money to pay the labels, because Skam wasn't making more money---the show was being pirated right along with the music---so, yeah, it's a whole thing...
