S2 has definitely got me hooked so far!! loving mia so much π₯Ίthe depth they're giving her character, the way they're handling the situation with kiki, i'm just so invested with it and i can't wait to see it all unravel cause it definitely feels like the most unique and grounded version of S2 since the og!

So what happened in the first scene with Mia was that she got the message in the group text about Secret Santa and realized she had forgotten. She checked which paper she had drawn - Kiki - and then had only an hour to get her a gift. That's how she ended up with that lame gift card. So Mia didn't NOT want to hang out with her friends, she just realized she had forgotten about the gift exchange. Which then of course got extra awkward, because Kiki got Mia such a thoughtful gift and Mia gave her the last-minute gift card.
