i know i'm late to the party to comment on this - but i've seen this show SO many times and watched a lot of reactions to it. the scene where wille and simon have their first "fight" regarding the drugs, it seems to me like the scene wasn't written well (although almost all of the show is incredible) or it reflects on wille's inability to communicate effectively.
i think we all wondered why he didn't lead with the fact that the group want to blame simon but he doesn't want that and he needs help coming up with a solution. he brought up all of the bad stuff first and then when simon asks him if he's just going to go along with it, he gets angry. i feel like a logical person (even a teenager) would have approached this situation differently.. and would have talked first about what they want to do or how they want to solve the problem - not start off with the bad and make it sound like he WANTS to blame simon, like the rest of the group.
also, one weird thing i've noticed is that there's differences in subtitles depending on where people watch it. i know yours said simon said "fuck you" to wille, but the english subs on netflix australia and netflix UK say that he said "what the hell?" so it'd be interested in knowing what the actual translation is there. also there was that confusing part where where wille first goes into his new room with the headmistress, deletes simons number and then says to the bodyguards as he leaves "can you just leave me alone for a second?" i noticed your subs said "yes, i'm sorry sir" and then they follow anyway, but on other subs i've seen, they've said "no, i'm sorry sir" (which makes more sense.)
i might try english dubbing for that particular scene and see what simon says and whether it's as strong as "fuck you" or if it was meant to be tamer. anyway, love your reactions and your thoughts and discussion regarding characters, plot points and the overall show.
edvin ryding (wille) and omar rudberg (simon) do have the most incredible chemistry i've ever seen in a show. they've talked in interviews about how edvin did some casting with other actors to play "simon," and then omar came along (who has no acting experience). he said they had chemistry straight off the bat.. and that they developed that as the castings went on by hanging out socially and being around each other while omar hoped he got the role. obviously it just got better and better as their friendship developed and they had a year to hang out between seasons. they also used an "intimacy coordinator" on the show which they've explained the process of and i think that has a lot to do with the way the chemistry translates onto the screen. it's not a common thing for shows to have an IC, so the role played by them obviously paid off so well as their relationship and connection is a masterpiece. sorry for the rant!
