Yeah your takeaways from this ep are pretty much everyone's: Mercedes performance = 🔥 Acafellas = ick Will is definitely super cringy a good amount of the time. But he also kinda anchors the group and we love the supremely talented Matt Morrison. The actors who play Tina and Artie have a podcast where they talk about each episode which is a lot of fun, and they STRUGGLED with this one 😅 They've talked with a lot of their guests (some of the writers/creators of the show) about how people don't always realize glee is a satire. Seems like you've got at least the vibe of "unserious"ness ! But yeah as someone mentioned not EVERYTHING is a joke. The show does tackle some deep stuff especially in these early seasons and does a lot of it pretty well. You brought up that they seemed to have abandoned the Rachel/FInn stuff from the first 2 episodes and I think you should be warned not to EVER put too much stock in storylines in this show - they will come and go and rarely is there ever a linear (or logical) plot. Have fun! 😝 Oh and also you mentioned you don't watch a lot of musicals so just to help you out - we suspend reality whenever anyone breaks out into song! Magically synchronized dances, elaborate sets, walking through school hallways - just gotta go with it! 🕺

Garber has done many things on TV and movies, so you’re sure to have seen him somewhere. Fun reaction to a pretty cringy episode.

So not everything is supposed to be a joke. But I think you’ll get that more as you get into the next couple episodes. Love these reactions btw ❤️

2024-06-19 00:08:50 +0000 UTCi will say, the acafella stuff was insufferable 😭 and just overall the focus being on the grown ups rather than the kids was a bit meh.. but it was still chaotic and ridiculous enough for me to enjoy it tbh. plus, mercedes solo was absolute perfection so it made up for all the acafella stuff LOL
