2025-02-13 00:28:25 +0000 UTCBased on how you've talked about her, I'm guessing you don't know who Idina Menzel is who plays the Vocal Adrenaline coach. She originated the role of Elphaba in Wicked on Broadway and she's the voice of Elsa in the Frozen movies. They've shown Finn playing the drums so many times during the season. I guess you missed it. This episode is the first episode to center around the songs from one artist. The creator of Glee Ryan Murphy has wanted to do this for a while and chose Madonna because he's close friends with her. He actually reached out to her to get her permission to use her songs. Definitely watch some of Madonna's music videos for the songs that were in this episode. You'll understand why some of the characters were dressed as they were. In the song Express Yourself you said the girls looked like Zara employees. Actually they were dressed how Maddona was dressed for the music video of that song.

2025-02-13 00:13:31 +0000 UTCI am laughing so hard because you unknowingly have predicted a major season 2 plot point, not saying which, but well done in advance :P I really love this episode so I am glad you seemed to enjoy it, 1B is far superior to 1A and each episode brings you closer to season 2 which is hands down, the best season of the show and I look forward to watching your reactions to it all. And as for why they did an entire Madonna episode, Ryan Murphy likes Madonna. One of the reasons he made Glee in the first place was to try to introduce younger audiences to the music he grew up with so there's all kinds of episodes which focus on artists from the 60's through to the 90's. There's a Fleetwood Mac episode, two Beatles episodes (The Beatles have the highest number of covers in Glee compared to any other band or artist), there's a Sondheim episode, a Grease ep, a movie soundtrack episode, a Whitney Housten ep, and many more. The range of music they cover is pretty wide, it's always fun. And in episode 17 you will get to witness what is widely regarded as one of the worst covers they ever do and it still makes me cringe to this day and the show brings it up a couple of times as a joke to acknowledge how terrible it was :P
