Claire video, Update and Direction poll

"Due to recent events regarding patreon please message me for links to this video"
Big thanks to Zerodiamonds for the voice! I was planning to stock audio until I got a message from her. Due to the size, stuff going on in the video and sound the compression on gfycat isn't exactly forgiving I'll make a webm version tomorrow. I'd do it now but I don't have the energy. I also included 2 versions of the video for quality purposes.
This turned out to be longer than I had planned which was a 20 second loop turned into a little over 2 minutes. I wanted to have a few shots with zombies(specifically an opening shot) but due to time constraints I had to stop short and midway of those shots. Editing this was quite soul sucking because it somewhere around 100+ hours, I ended up wasting a day because I couldn't the water dripping effect for the glass working correctly. With this done I can finally get to playing the Claire A Leon B scenario.
Creatively I haven't been in a very good place. The last work I've enjoyed doing was the legoman version of Zelda video I did a few months ago, everything past that has left an aftertaste of dissatisfaction. For the most part I am just really tired of the limitations, tricks and heavy editing I need to use for SFM videos. I want to start to take a serious transition to blender and really make something phenomenal. I mentioned I wanted to use it in the past and while I did I really only dabbled in it during video renderings and very sparingly during breaks.
I understand its not something to switch into that easily and expect results quickly so I'll still be doing a loop animations and posting them in discord then when I have about 5-6 I'll make a post on patreon. So that should be a bi-weekly post, I think alternating between request and bring back polls would be best. However I understand if you would like me to work and finish up my medium sized videos then transition to blender. The last two in line are "Cammy becoming a queen of spade" and "Bayonetta after a hard workout", waiting for a specific model for the latter. These videos will use a more "cinematic" technique than previous videos as well as padding for length.
Apologies for the wait as well as the wall of text. I honestly didn't think the render as well as the time to edit this video would take so long. I'll be on discord tomorrow since I am pretty exhausted and need sleep. Tomorrow I'll finally take your messages while I edit a "blacked" version on the helen parr video from last month. Thank you for your patience and generous support I'll let this poll go for a few days while I take a short break to enjoy resident evil and some stuff I want to animate.

Personally I'm all for you swapping to Blender if it'll ease up on your frustrations. Plus I know the animations that will come from it will be even more ridiculously amazing.

2019-03-24 22:19:34 +0000 UTCI didn't plan on it, but maybe in the future if there is interest. I am a little hard pressed to come up with a narrative for it.

2019-03-05 23:35:31 +0000 UTCI should clarify, I just simply forgot to mention it. I wanted to leave it for last considering I have to completely redo cia since I've obtained an actual model for her. I am not too worried about animation since I have a working 5 second loop it's just everything else needs to be broken down to the fundamental level. Of course I am not stopping completely for sfm I know for sure I won't be proficent quick enough to make large step of make larger projects with blender for awhile. so I'll still be using sfm for larger works for awhile.

2019-03-05 23:30:35 +0000 UTCOn the bright side, I can think of another animator who uses Blender for most of his work, and has done several large projects, so he'd probably be a good source of information for you: Guiltyk

2019-03-05 20:59:21 +0000 UTCOops, looks like the mobile submission form cut off my reply...which I only just noticed now, ofc... *sigh* Crap. Well, I forget my exact wording, unfortunately, but the gist of it is that if you feel you need to take a break by switching to blender periodically, I have no issue with that, especially if it's in preparation for eventually switching over entirely -- it'd mean that you'd be able to better use what you're learning from the Blender research and experimentation in the meantime. That being said, switching over flat-out seems like it would be a mistake, because you don't know nearly as much about Blender as you so about SFM, (at least that's what I've inferred from your phrasing), so swapping almost entirely would make a hefty bottleneck in your work to begin with, and I remember you saying a while ago that not putting out much work also made you feel not so great, which is sorta what I'd expect to happen if you abprubtly switched your main means of producing animation. So I guess I'm saying I recommend trying to achieve balance first, then aim for shifting to Blender over time.

2019-03-05 20:58:38 +0000 UTCCurious about that 2e(B)ony video. Is that a medium sized video as well? Would love to see that as well.

2019-03-05 18:55:07 +0000 UTCSorry to ask given how you've said you're feeling, but...the longer project with Zelda/Cia/Midna -- is that still on the table? Been really looking forward to that since you first announced it...

2019-03-05 12:09:17 +0000 UTCHey, if you still wanted to continue that Zelda/Groose project - you know where to find me, Sec. I've got a couple other ideas under my belt we can discuss one day when we're both free. :)

2019-03-05 09:38:13 +0000 UTCI got a lot a love and hate for that one haha. It's drawn and written down on my notepad but I'll try write/draw it in a digital format to share in discord tomorrow.

2019-03-05 03:53:08 +0000 UTCThat's awesome to hear. I personally always prefer something with a story. Think thats what made your link/zelda videos so legendary in the community. The animation was good of course but the dialogue/story was what made it so hot. Excited for the cammy project

2019-03-05 03:41:57 +0000 UTCThat is correct, I have a story board outline for it rather than a fire from the hip approach I usually use.

2019-03-05 03:36:49 +0000 UTCDefinitely pumped for the cammy queen of spades video. Especially since there will be a cinematic approach and seemingly a story line! So had to vote for medium projects first
