2018 Plans

Hi everyone! I'd like to wish you all a very merry Christmas, and also take this opportunity to do a self-'performance review' of 2017 and my plans for 2018.  

Short version:

• Going to use the Suggestion Box more 
• Escapades release schedule: #3 approx Apr/May, #4 approx Nov/Dec 
• No charge for your January pledge while I catch up on Vote Winners backlog, charges resume on Feb 1st 
• Fanart votes resume in February with amended rewards (1st: Full pic, 2nd: Fullbody sketch, 3rd: Gag bust sketch) 
• Scheduled stream dates incoming 
• $7 tier amended – naughty stuff goes to Twitter & Tumblr

General pics:

Good:
Got to play with some fun concepts. The videogame/movie parodies like Fallout, Zelda, Metal Gear and Judge Dredd were all very well received so I'll no doubt be producing some more of those. I'm also pretty happy with how the 'seasonal specials' (Valentines/Easter/Halloween/Xmas) turned out.
Bad:
I haven't been using the Suggestion Box much. I *could* say I've technically done a few things from it like “more Wossy bondage” “more breathplay” “ballgag drool”, but those just kinda happened naturally. There were only three pics this year that were explicitly made in response to Suggestion Box ideas (“More of Aeria in her pantyhose, with a tape gag, pantyhose hood and taped to a chair?”, “I'd love to see some pantyhose encasement” and “I'd love to see some masked women paying them a visit in a home invasion robbery or something  akin to that”.)
Also, a few pieces went unfinished (“eating  popcorn” animation, a final part to the Metal Gear Wossy 2 story, and “Papercut v2”). I may come back to them.
General pics 2018 plan: More W&A media parodies, refer to the suggestion box more (ideally combine with Lucky Draws), don't leave stuff half-done.

Escapades: 

Good:
Issue 2 was a success! And it felt great to finally give Wossy and Aer a living space that contained more than just a couch in an empty void. :p Issue 3 is coming along well too, expanding on the brief hints dropped in #2 about Wossy's store, and by the end it will have set up a nice foundation for further stories.
Bad:
Issue 2 took a little longer than expected, and... well, progress on issue 3 has been moving at a snail's pace, despite my excitement about the story and new additions to the cast. I knew it would take a little longer because there's so much more going on in each page with regards to characters, story and environment... but even with that in mind, the sketches should have been finished by now. 15 out of 24 isn't good enough.
Escapades 2018 plan: Go faster!! Finish #3 around Apr/May, and then #4 around Nov/Dec. It really shouldn't be taking longer than 6 months per issue.

Fanart Vote: 

Good:
44 winners drawn so far! I'm pretty proud of that, but...
Bad:
I couldn't keep up, and had to reduce the winners from 3 to 2 per vote from August onwards... and apparently I STILL can't keep up now!? (currently 2 and a half months behind).
Fanart Vote 2018 plan: I have paused the Patreon – this means that you will not be charged on Jan 1st 2018. There will be no new votes in January as I'll be using the month to catch up on the backlog. (I figure I can't charge you guys for the month if the only pictures that will be posted during it are ones that you already paid for in previous months!)
Charges will resume on Feb 1st , and the Fanart Votes will come back with a slightly amended winning structure again. The new format will be “1st place: Full picture, 2nd place: Fullbody sketch, 3rd place: Gag bust sketch”. Hopefully this should still be an enticing reward while lightening the workload a little so that I can devote more time to Escapades (which was always supposed to be the focus of this Patreon but the Fanart Vote kinda snowballed into power). I know reducing the vote rewards a second time is a disappointment and may prompt some cancellations, but I really hate to 'overpromise and underdeliver', so this is my plan to avoid doing that in 2018.

Good:
932 hours streamed in 2017! Patrons have enjoyed helping out with the Fanart Vote pics and have been responsible for some of the fun ideas we got in the end.
Bad:
No set schedule - I figure the streams would be more appealing if a Patron knew exactly when they could tune in to see a character that they voted for get worked on.
Streaming 2018 plan: Commit to some scheduled days, and pump up those numbers!

Reward tiers:

$3 – VoyAer: I think this is still pretty solid.
$7  – InvestAer: I've not been giving out as many PSDs/videos as I should be – this will be rectified! Also, I've removed the “Anything too saucy for DeviantArt will be posted here, for your eyes only!” perk as A. I don't really draw much explicit material anyway, and B. Now that I have a Twitter&Tumblr, I may as well make use of them.
$10 – InsidAer: Once Escapades production speeds back up, this should be alright.
