Hi all! You may have already seen something like this if you follow some other creators too.
Whatever has happened, it resulted in the usual 5-10 declined pledges at the start of the month jumping up this time to being over 50(!) - some of which are long-time Patrons so I know you're legit.
The most prominent theory going around ties into the line in Patreon's statement about "efforts to create a stable and global platform as we grow", with many reporting that Patreon have started using a bank in the UK, and this has got other banks across the rest of the world wondering "Why is my customer suddenly sending an international payment? Better block it to be safe".
Anyway.. if your payment didn't go through, please check out the tweet to see if any of those options can help. Patreon also say they'll be sending out an email apologizing to everyone who's pledges got declined and providing more information ( https://twitter.com/Patreon/status/1025089102838824961 ), but we'll see.
Sorry for the hassle. It's really not ideal to ask you guys to jump through hoops and call your bank when it's apparently a result of Patreon's failure to keep everyone in the loop about the changes they make. Patreon say they'll retry billing daily ( https://patreon.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/204606115-I-have-declined-patrons-Will-you-charge-them-again- ), so hopefully your bank will eventually contact you to ask if the payment is non-fraud.
