I actually considered showing this in one draft of the script, like having them hold her bound hands against the phone (or maybe if it had face unlock, hold it up before gagging her, or something like that), but with the final version starting the story with them already using her phone, there wasn't really anywhere to include that scene without breaking the flow of things. :(
