I dug the suggested idea of Aloy being bound from multiple sides and materials, so went with that for her. That hair is a NIGHTMARE! :p But hey, after so many months of entries, it's nice to see Aloy finally get in, and I hope I did her justice.
As for Mai (who's hair is ALSO a bit of a nightmare!), went with a manga vibe. Briefly considered a Millenium-Eye-Ballgag (https://yugioh.fandom.com/wiki/Mai_Kujaku_(manga)?file=D-053_Eyeball_in_mouth.jpg "Mai finds a Millennium Eye replica in her soup.") but it looked kinda ugly (the side angle makes it look like a pair of goofy lips! ヽ༼ °⊱,° ༽ﾉ ), so kept things plain.
