【考察】効果音描写の違い（Pony系 vs Animagine系）

1.はじめに

この記事では、Pony系の画像生成AIとAnimagine系の画像生成AIで、「sound effects」（効果音）の描写の違いを考察していきます。

キャラクターの動きを表すためのエフェクト表現で、プロンプトから簡単に指定できるのは次のものです。

実は「sound effects」もその候補には挙げられます。

ただし、「sound effects」は文字表現（例：ボコォ）になりますが、多くの画像生成AIは文字表現が苦手で、安定しない傾向にあります。

そのため、実用的には画像素材を調達して、手動で加工していった方が早いです。

ただ、実験的に試している中で、Pony系とAnimagine系で「sound effects」の効果に違いが見つかったので、その違いを考察していきます。

4.考察

以前は、Animagine系では「sound effects」（効果音）が効くが、Pony系では効かないものと思っていました。

しかし、それは正確ではないようで、Pony系でも効いてはいるようでした。

ただし、Pony系での「sound effects」はアニメ文脈（Danbooru）のものではなくカートゥーン文脈（e621）のものであるようです。

そのため、Animagine系は日本語もどきの文字が周囲に散在する形で生成されますが、Pony系では英語もどきの文字が周囲の一定箇所にやや控えめに生成されるようです。

また、日本語はひらがな・カタカナ・漢字と文字の種類が多く、逆に英語はアルファベットのみで文字の種類が限定されています。

そのため、英語の方が画像生成AI的には学習しやすいようで、指定した単語を出力できています。

5.おわりに

今回は、「sound effects」（効果音）をテーマに考察していきましたが、これだけでもアニメ文脈（Danbooru）とカートゥーン文脈（e621）での思わぬ違いを感じさせられることになりました。

このような違いは他にもあるはずです。

現在のSDXL事情としては、「Pony系 vs Animagine系 vs それらの混合モデル」の勢力図になっていると感じています。

それぞれに強み弱みがありますので、ケースバイケースでの使い分けが求められます。

また、Pony系でtxt2imgし、Animagine系でimg2imgするようなアプローチもあります。

例）

加えて、Animagine系はPony系ほどプロンプトでのコントロールが効いている感触はないので、ControlNetの重要性が高いです。

SDXLのControlNetはいくつかありますが、最初の一歩としてはAnyTestのV3・V4をオススメします。
