He married Cersei, a woman he didn’t love, for political reasons; he didn’t abdicate, as he wanted, because he knew that Joffrey would be an evil king, especially as long as Cersei would have the right to be his queen regent. Another of my favorites is Outlander and they actually call the wait between seasons "Droughtlander" because it's soooo long between. I think there are 2 more seasons and it ends. I'd recommend it as well, I think you'd love it!

2024-09-19 00:02:46 +0000 UTCNO SPOILERS: The 4 sigils on the sword at the end of the opening theme are a STAG for House Baratheon (the kings house), a LION for House Lannister (the queens house), a DIRE WOLF for House Stark (Ned's house) and a DRAGON for house Targaryen (the Khaleesi's house). All 4 are part of the 9 Great Houses of Westeros. Yes Amber, Catelyn's sister Lysa was married to Jon Arryn. Robert wants Daenerys, her baby, and her brother dead because he knows their intention is to claim the Iron Throne back. The Targaryen dynasty ruled the seven kingdoms for over 300 years, until Robert overthrew them during his rebellion (when they killed Aerys Targaryen known as the Mad King, father of Daenerys and Viserys, who were forced to flee Westeros after his death).

The writing is great at tugging between the characters, keeping you wondering who to trust, who to invest in and who will end up falling. I actually waited until I knew they were filming season 4 before I dedicated to start watching the series. Then we binged through it once, and again just before the premier of that season....then again just before the premier of each following season😂 Definitely enjoying watching again with you.
