This episode makes a lot more sense when eventually Jesse tells the Mexican cartel: “this place is disgusting. Don’t you have standards?” 😂

2025-01-13 04:47:18 +0000 UTCExactly. Change of pace episodes are very important. This one is a bit extreme but I do enjoy it.

2025-01-13 04:46:47 +0000 UTCYou either love or hate this one and I love it. Very well written and if you understand what the fly represents metaphorically you may get it. His fight to kill the fly represents his current fight in life to make everything clean and smooth. The fly represebts a singular issue that can lead to larger omes. But when you kill 1 fly more always show up.

2024-12-20 12:07:09 +0000 UTCAmber, consider watching the HBO Miniseries From the Earth to the Moon. It’s only 11 episodes and it’s made and starring many of the same people who were on the Apollo 13 film. Bryan Cranston is in it too. He plays Buzz Aldrin. It’s an excellent miniseries.

2024-12-20 03:45:13 +0000 UTCI did not like this episode on first viewing, but have come to appreciate the character development between Walt and Jesse. That and how close Walt comes to revealing to Jesse some things that might destroy their working relationship.

2024-12-19 19:25:23 +0000 UTCI personally take the stance of liking this episode. Not necessarily because of any artistic choices, which I do enjoy, but because it gives us a moment to breathe - this season (and one could argue the whole series) is packed with major plot advancements and tense situations. Don’t get me wrong, I have no problem with the regular pacing of the show, but I personally think having an episode to just be with and examine the 2 main characters is a great addition to the series, especially at this point in the series before things kick into high gear.

2024-12-19 05:30:58 +0000 UTCVince, the show creator, admitted that this was a "bottle episode". They were over budget and needed an episode that was really cheap to film to get back on track. Setting the entire episode in the lab allowed them to cut down on costs tremendously. Fans have a hate it/love it relationship with the episode but I personally love it.
