Black Panther (2018) Full Length

Comments

Amber, Thank you so much for sharing your very personal experience in this way. It is truly a kind and generous gift to all of us!

tieramid

Wow I had forgotten I had seen this one and forgotten how great it is. What a great great reaction to it too!

Jayce

Blaack Pather is a great movie, and I understand why your father loved it so much. Much of the culture is represented in that movie with a Marvel spin. This is why I love Coco, Encanto, and the Book of Life. As a Mexican American I am proud of these movies. Just like Vanilla Sky (2001) is an English remake of the Spanish movie Abre los ojos (1997).

Robert Lopez

Yeah. This is why I've always been drawn more to Marvel than to DC. Marvel has superheroes but they are rooted for the most part in humanity. They have issues like you and me and that is what makes them relatable.

Robert Lopez

MotoDork - LOL that is literally the dumbest take ever. The world isn't red or blue, so maybe look up some information on MCU movies since Endgame and see the numbers tank. So nobody watched them, including non "maga" and alphabet mafiosos.

GQubed

Woman. I just finished watching. It took me this long. Your pain came through so raw. You had one hell of a dad, I can tell that just by your words. I'm happy you were able to see it, clearly. Many hugs.

Rowan

I think anybody who has lost a parent can relate to T'challa. I always considered him one of Marvel's best heroes in the comics. And that's the thing I always loved about Marvel in general, that even these incredibly powerful beings like Hulk or Spider-man were somehow relatable. At least they were when I was reading comics in the seventies and eighties. I think Marvel used to have better writers. (Averting gaze from soap box.)

Thaddeus Winterson

Shhhh ...

Thaddeus Winterson

Banner just said he has 7 PhDs so... by that metric, he's the smartest Shuri comes close by talent but not even by hardware

Karl Kraus

RIP Chadwick Boseman. Gone way too soon. He was not unlike John Cazale from “The Godfather”. He only acted in a few films, but every one of them were great.

Sweetish_Jeff_25

Knew you wre gonna love this one. killmonger wasn't wrong about the problem facing Wakanda and Black people in the world. Don't agree with his solution, but dude had a point. The pieces are all now in place...

Mark Adolph

Lots of deadlines at the office for me this week, it will be nice having this to look forward to for the evenings

pawpaw72546

"I don't know why, it makes me think of Atlantis" - Amber You don't say? Interesting.... very interesting.

pawpaw72546

No spoilers, all questions will be answered in the second movie

Shaynge

Omg watch the woman king every emotion in human history comes out.

Brittiney Johnson

Amber, there is so much in this film that has so much meaning, depth, and humanity. I could sit here and type volumes of what this film means to me and what it obviously means to you but our love for this Masterpiece and your priceless reaction speaks those volumes. Thank You for sharing part of your heart. Chadwick Boseman in his very short time on this Earth gave the World his gift of taking some truly iconic characters both real and fictional to a place that will stand the test of time. He has etched a place in some of our very souls with his grace, class, elegance, and dignity (there are so many great adjectives that could still be used here) but the one role that truly describes him as a Man and a human being is The Black Panther! There will be others that will take the mantle but there will only be one True King. Rest In Power King, Wakanda Forever!

MAV293 (MARK)

Not in the comics. But I wont get into why the change for the MCU and that includes powering up Captain Marvel. In the end, we can see the result of there attempts.

Tim

Great point. That same same tradition allowed him to defeat T’Challa and become king.

Lovaire Hawkins

good thing tradition exists for him though. he exploits it when challenging t'chala.

Jim

Your hatred toward Kilmonger is why he’s one of the greatest Marvel villains that we’ve seen in these movies. Michael B Jordan played this role to perfection.

Lovaire Hawkins

Amber: “Does he even respect the tradition?” The tradition left him to die after they killed his father. He hates the “tradition” and everything that it stands for.

Lovaire Hawkins

Great reaction Amber and thank you for for your vulnerability in sharing about your dad and I'm sorry for your loss. As a "girldad" father👴🏾 of 3 BP holds a special place for me for...MULTIPLE reasons as well as being born and raised in Oakland CA. along with the writer & Director Ryan Cooglar...it remains my personal favorite MCU movie because of the MCU's most complex antagonist imo...and the relevant questions it raised. A well crafted story when storytelling was emphasized over spectacle. I'm so excited for the rest of your MCU journey!!! THANK YOU!!!🏆👍🏾👏🏾✌🏾

K Dub

Infinity War is next. Ant-Man and The Wasp and Captain Marvel are between Infinity War and Endgame

Galen Powell

Stand up Amber, for you are a Queen. I lost my father 2 yrs ago and I carry that pain with me. He is always with me though.

Robert Lopez

Amber, I've known you since your very first song reaction video. So I knew this one would really get to you. I'm so glad it hit you in the feels and made you think. Thank you so much for sharing your viewing with us! You always make it special.

Karen Silvera

The 2 white actors in Black Panther also played Gollum & Bilbo Baggins. Meaning, they are the two Tolkien white guys of the movie.

Mark Finley

Not the best MCU film, but pretty good. For sure one of the last decent ones for the series.

Tim

If you like Lupita Nyong'o (Nakias actress) you should check out "Us". She was robbed of winning best actress for it but definitly should have. She has amazing range and she's so stunning!

Melody Netherton

Also, the film makes my wife emotional. She's Nigerian. There are several ties in the film to her home country. They did the Premiere in Lagos, Nigeria. It brought a lot of good image to the Country.

Just Dave

and captain marvel

Karl Kraus

Thank you!

Melody Netherton

Andy Serkis is the actor playing Klaue. He is also the voice of Gollum/Sméagol in Lord of the Rings.

Philip Bray

Still one of my all time favorite Marvel Characters

Melody Netherton

Same but he's so good in so many movies!

Melody Netherton

Cap brought Bucky to Wakanda after civil war

Rashad Walker

Oh, I believe Antman 2 is before Infinity Wars. Antman and the Wasp.

Just Dave

Danai Gurira, who played General Okoye, played Michonne on The Walking Dead. Was a bad ass with a Samuri Sword before Black panther. I think her training with the sword probably lent to her grace fighting with the spear. And probably an unpopular opinion but Jordan is not a great actor. He just wasnt believable. Boseman was very good.

Marty B

This movie also ties in with Falcon and the Winter Soldier on Disney Plus.

Just Dave

Yeah, they have to be watched in release order, like it or not There are some key things in the two afterwards that will play into endgame I know she won't want to wait but i think, for the integrity of the flow, she'll play along

Karl Kraus

Up to this point in marvel, Shuri is the smartest. That includes Tony and Bruce.

Tray-T

Correct

Tray-T

so..iron man?

Jim

In Infinity War, these female warriors fight alongside Black Widow. The actress on the arm of Black Panther is Lupita Nyong’o

Richard C

@Sam Mascaro There are two movies before End Game. Let her get through it in the way it's supposed to be watched.

Dodger Blue 311

when i hear Claw all i see is Smeagol lol

Adam Olsson

Michael B. Jordan delivered a powerhouse performance as Killmonger, commanding every scene he was in with intensity and depth.

Jake Sisk

Chadwick Boseman gave an unforgettable performance as Black Panther. RIP

Jake Sisk

"Black Panther eat pizza, we eat pizza!" — Do the Right Thing. This was the first cultural reference to Black Panther I ever heard, decades ago. It was a reminder that the legacy and significance of Black Panther had been deeply ingrained in culture long before the Marvel Cinematic Universe brought him to the big screen.

Jake Sisk

Bucky was put on ice until his winter soldier programming was wiped away from his mind, at the end of Civil War and I guess Shuri and her team of scientists succeeded Remember when Shuri said "another broken white boy for us to fix"? Well... Bucky was the first And yes, Bucky will be around for more Marvel appearances

Karl Kraus

Thank you if you were talking about me,if not, thank you anyway. acknowledgment goes a long way

Thomas Horton

Has anybody told you that Black Panther married Storm from the X-Men

Thomas Horton

It was the mid credit scene

Karl Kraus

At the end of Civil War—they put Bucky back under and took him to Wakanda to help him get rid of his winter soldier programming and protect him from the other governments. It was the final scene in the movie or an end credit I don’t recall which. A lot of people forget that when they get here but that’s the first time you see a glimpse of Wakanda in the MCU.

Ray H

It only killed it for the MAGA fucks.

MotoDork

The language the Wakandans use is called Xhosa (said with a ciick of the tongue) but i can't click mine to save my life

Karl Kraus

"Why is Bucky here??" Remember, Tony blew his arm off in Civil War, and in the end credit scene Captain America had brought him to Wakanda to be put on ice. But since then the Wakandans have been helping to get Hydra out of his brain so he can just be Bucky again.

MotoDork

For Bast's sake... Bast is the goddess Wakandan's worship she's the panther goddess

Karl Kraus

Thomas already pointed out that Claw was Gullom. But our dear old Bilbo Baggins from The Hobbit trilogy (Martin Freeman) plays Everett the CIA guy. I love their scenes together. It'd be funny if Claw said, 'what's he gots in his pocket!' during the interrogation. They probably had a blast acting together again.

Karen Silvera

My favorite Stan Lee cameo is the one where he's a WWll vet in Age of Ultron who tries Thor's fermented liquor at the Avengers Tower party and gets carried off by his buddies

Karl Kraus

Yes, the movie Shuri was referring to had to be Back to the Future Part ll to be exact Because the "sneakers" T'Challa tried were like the power Nikes Marty put on

Karl Kraus

Social commentary killed the mcu.

GQubed

Please plan on watching END GAME right after , we know you well enough to know you will not be able to wait!!! My daughter and I are having a movie night tonight so we can watch your reaction this week!

Sam Mascaro

The only other film Klau was in was Age of Ultron and Ultron cut his arm off. That’s why you don’t remember it being like that.

MotoDork

Well that is very strange. It could be that your software could be cutting off the letterboxed portion of the video. Or it could be that the software for some reason is simply blocking the subtitles.

MotoDork

By the way, the composer for the music, Ludwig goransson, did the music for the mandalorian

Karl Kraus

Awesome! Can't wait ❤️❤️❤️

Karl Kraus

Now that chadwick boseman is gone, it's hard to rewatch this... and the sequel I wanted to see more of him with shuri and his mother, a wonderful family atmosphere

Karl Kraus

I remember now! Thank you

Amber Walker

I watched on Disney plus and missed some subtitles. Idk why!

Amber Walker

I plan on watching that on Monday. Will be posted to Patreon by Tuesday

Amber Walker

Now, let's hope we all don't have to wait long for infinity war

Karl Kraus

When they are speaking Wakandan, you should see English subtitles, unless you're watching a bootleg version of the film.

MotoDork

Remember, klaw got his arm cut off by ultron when they talked on that ship on the African coast with all that vibranium for his plan And I believe all that vibranium stored in that ship was what he stole from wakanda in the 90s

Karl Kraus

The beautiful costumes were able to get the movie an Academy Award, along with two more for it's exceptionally unique music and art design Also became the first comic book/superhero movie to get nodded for Best Picture

Karl Kraus

Ultron cut his arm off when he brought up Stark. So he got a new and improved arm

Brantly

I absolutely love Okoye's ferocity and stout nature as a general of the Dora Milaje (Wakanda's female corps of soldiers) The actress is from Iowa, a fact i'm proud to know since my family lived in Iowa for a time in the 60s I'm also of German descent (obviously) and one of the lieutenants (name is Ayo) is now a German national I love all the loose connections to me there are

Karl Kraus

Klaue couldn't do that with his arm in age of ultron because in that movie he had 2 arms until Ultron chopped one of them off. the weapon he has now was a replacement for the arm. Really looking forward to Infinity war. Bucky was there because that's where he put himself under.

Jim

"Why did they have to strip his power away?" That's to make it a fair fight with whichever contender he faces for the throne.

MotoDork

Also tchalla has to have his powers stripped in ritual combat to make it fair. He can't fight regular human men with powers

Rashad Walker

The FIRST SUPERHERO movie to ever be NOMINATED(2019) FOR an Oscar for Best Picture Of The Year...the first Marvel movie to win an Academy Award🏆 (3) 2019...who Marvel head Kevin Feige has repeatedly...outwardly claimed to be the "Jewel of the MCU." Always excited to see this through someone else's eyes!!!👍🏾THANK YOU AMBER!!!🥳🎊🎉🥰👏🏾✌🏾😘

K Dub

To make the fight fair

Thomas Horton

Clau got his arm chopped off by ultron so he had it replaced with Wakandan tech he stole.

Rashad Walker

Remember Ultron cut off ulysses arm

Thomas Horton

The scene at the British Museum, the building used was in Atlanta, and like in Civil War, my older sister was a background extra for that sequence In fact, most scenes in the movies around this timeframe (2016-2019, maybe into the 2020s) were shot around Atlanta, on location and in soundstages (green screen and such) Makes me proud to know this

Karl Kraus

You definitely could pull off a bald head

Thomas Horton

I agree and was going to suggest she watch a few more black-led films for BHM :)

Adrian Rhodes

I thought Civil War had the most social commentary but Black Panther dared to go deeper I love the way the issues are embedded in the story This should turn into required viewing schools one day for critical thinking skills or something

Karl Kraus

Thor: Ranarok and Black Panther are good.....but....you are about to experience one of the greatest movies of all time in Avengers: Infinity War. Can't wait for it.....oh yeah, bring tissues. You will cry..

DarrellWaller

Remember, Ulysses claw is Andy Serkis the voice of Gollum from Lord of the rings

Thomas Horton

Happy BHM ✊🏾 I’m excited to watch! Also please tell me we’re getting a double drop with infinity war reaction today 👀

MadeByMali

Let's go!! I can't want to get home and watch this.

Charles Allen

This is the perfect movie for Black History Month! It was even released during Black History Month! I'm happy this was dropped before the weekend was over! I couldn't bear to wait another day!

Karl Kraus

Hell yeah!

Mark Walston

Next stop: Infinity War

MotoDork

I’m so excited to watch this one with you!!

jahara daughtry
