riverblue salon

When I saw this in the theater I was by myself and had no clue what to expect. I couldn't believe how fast I was almost unable to sit still. My feet started tapping and my heart was racing. Loved your reaction, it reminded me of mine.

Donna Burke

You were awesome in this reaction. Your appreciation for the acting, the score and the production of this movie was beautifully evident by the tears of joy that fell onto your shirt. I loved it. Thank you.

Patrick Coffey

Another Cher movie and very cool musical movie is Burlesque. That would make for a great reaction!

Patrick Coffey

Right?!?! It would also be a great palette cleanser after dark episodes of other shows.

Rowan

😂🤣😅🤣😂 I would pay good money to see him perform this in full Wolverine getup lol. "Wolverine - The Softer Side"

Drewcliff82

She would adore a Knight's Tale.

Drewcliff82

Exactly 💯 I hope the outside world doesn't get to her as it has so many of us. Hope you had a good weekend. I'm watching Battle of the Bastards here in a sec then Winds of Winter. It's almost like 1 long movie lol.

Drewcliff82

I forgot just how great this movie is. As a fan of musicals, this hits all the right notes, hard. Thanks for the watchalong. And you keep on crying those honest tears. BTW, my biracial daughter is wildly jealous of Zendaya. They're roughly the same age, and she says that Zendaya gets to live every biit of the life she'd love, and land every guy she thinks is amazing

Mark Adolph

Hey, Amber. Do me a favor? Never change. Keep that optimism, don't let life steal it from you. You're such a rare treasure it would break me to see you lose that glow.

Rowan

The scene with the hoop made me think of a movie you'd probably love. It was the song, you can't change your stars. A Knights Tale. Heath Ledger, Paul Bettany, played Vision in MCU, and the stunning Shannyn Sossamon among others. It's a modern take on medieval GOT type movies.

Rowan

You should check out The Prestige, with Hugh Jackman and Christian Bale, and it's similarly themed near competitor "The Illusionist" with Edward Norton. Both fantastic movies with themes around stage magic, and love stories.

Jayme LaFontaine

I had to read it twice, what a treat! One of the trivia stories also is the dance in the bar. No one could manage to do the bartenders role because the whole thing was so intricate. The choreographer had to play the bartender

Vanessa Hand

You would love Les Miserables 2012, I would love to see your reaction to it!

Miriam A

Betcha didn't think Wolverine could sing & dance.

Dale Sands

@Rowan, 👏 appreciated sweetheart 😉

Drewcliff82

Oh and absolute 10000% yes to LSOH lol. That dam plant scared the bejesus out of me when I was like 6 or 7 lol. Traumatized

Drewcliff82

Hey don't forget, "The hills are alive, with the sound of ........" lol.

Drewcliff82

Man Hugh truly is a jack of all trades (Pun intended). From Van Helsing to Wolverine to P.T. Barium, he truly puts all his skills on display here and shows he is amazingly talented in acting, theater and musical theater as well. He truly is the real deal. I wish he got more credit for being such an amazing talent.

Drewcliff82

Did anyone catch the Wolverine claws in the opening credits?

MotoDork

This Is ME Behind the scenes. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i-e8ZJBzw8Y

Paul D Hassett

Endgame and now this? Watch a comedy next and give your tear ducts a break. :) This is a movie I'll never tire of. And it's still weird to see the guy who's played Wolverine for 25 years sing so beautifully.

Paul D Hassett

When I watch things like this I think it's almost unfair that some people have so many talents. The movie is emotional yes, but your reaction which I can see is influenced by some real life events is what broke my heart the most.

Joseph Scally

Amazing reaction. This is definitely a cryer. I forgot how emotional this movie is. I was shedding some tears with you.

Charles Allen

Wanted to add Zendaya did most of her own stunts in this and the scene at the bar is one take if you look which just shows off Zach's and Hughs talent so much. I believe his first american role was the play Oklahoma. I'm not a huge fan of the play it self but Hugh is adorable in it.

Melody Netherton

Thank you!

Melody Netherton

Oh! Here's the link to it on YT. https://youtu.be/E5bB9Wn5mCY?si=KaJQ5BPOul2sriCo

Rowan

She's seen LSOH but I'm so down with that entire list. Evita being my top.

Rowan

So true. I haven't got to watch yet but probably in a few hours when I'm ready to lay down lol.

Drewcliff82

Agreed. And I usually hate musicals lol.

Drewcliff82

I'm a HUGE fan of Evita, if you're ever curious. 😁

Rowan

Across the Universe is another musical movie that you should watch. The movie is propelled by the Beatles music. It has a good love story and msg of friendship also

Robert Lopez

I am so happy you watched this beautiful musical. They took the story of PT Barnum’s start, exaggerated the drama and gave it flair and a musical engine. I just want to point out one important note, the woman who plays the opera singer is lip syncing. The actual singer is Loren Allred and her live version of the song is phenomenal. See the link below. https://youtu.be/aUOpj29BrbI?si=4x6jTBQmYZFMSFh7

Susanna

Whole many things Barnum did are criticized by today's standards I don't think anybody can dispute that the man was a genius. He invented the word humbug because he didn't like people calling what he did scams. He was quite controversial for employing the people he did including African Americans and foreigners which was definitely not popular at the time. Besides the freak show he would constantly come up with new fun exhibits. My favorite was called "the world's most dangerous animal" it led you down a hallway to a mirror. Nowadays that would be considered high art. He also created something he called the Fiji mermaid (the little girls comment is a hint to that as well as him taking a horn and sticking it on a horse calling it a unicorn) the Fiji mermaid was a stuffed monkey attached to the bottom part of a fish. The part about the circus burning did happen people who were not fond of those he employed burned it down and he did convert it into a circus.

Nerdgirl2025

I love when The beat hits and someone hasn't seen this movie before it's the instant ear to ear smile that everyone gets

ChickenPanda

You should definitely react to Wicked. You would love it, I promise 👍

Crystal Moore

Great movie & soundtrack. Your emotion was raw and appreciated. There are several YouTube reactions that you should look at regarding this movie. The first time Keala Settles performed “This is me” live was during their sales pitch to the studio for the movie. It was filmed. Also the Britain’s Got Talent version of “This is me” with the kids is incredible

Ricky Bretherick

Thank you for the surprise! This is one of my favorites! If you like musicals I'd recommend: Chicago, Little shop of Horrors(american version.), Across the universe, Evita, Rogers and Hammerstien Cinderella(1997), and if you don't mind horror musicals Sweenty Todd has an all star cast and the music is addicting!

Melody Netherton

Amber saying that being a dreamer can sometimes be a handicap made me think of it. If you study his life and the things he overcame I believe it is the ultimate story of hope. Freakshow to poet to model builder to a man who took tea with queens. Such an inspiration.

Melody Netherton

Very much so Melody.

Drewcliff82

Amber this was a great reaction, it doesn’t matter how many times I watch it I still cry and I was crying along with you! If you’re considering watching more musicals please please please watch Hairspray (which Zac is also in) and Wicked.. They’re both so good but of course not unless you’ve already seen them.

Ha'ane Rose 🦋

Thought this was appropriate: 'Tis true my form is something odd, But blaming me is blaming God; Could I create myself anew I would not fail in pleasing you. If I could reach from pole to pole Or grasp the ocean with a span, I would be measured by the soul; The mind's the standard of the man. —poem by Joseph Merrick(known in freakshows as the Elephant Man)

Melody Netherton

Me waiting for GOT S6 E 9&10. 🧐

Drewcliff82

I have a tough time with this movie.......I like the movie and there are some great musical numbers in it but it is so far off base on who B.T. Barnum really was. All this can be confirmed with research. Also the performance of "Never Enough" was not performed by actress Rebecca Ferguson that portrayed Jenny Lind in the movie. It was actually sung by artist Loren Allred who did not perform the song live for quite some time after the movie was released. I attached a link to her singing the song on the PBS special "An Intimate Evening With David Foster" delivering an extraordinary performance!! https://youtu.be/aUOpj29BrbI?si=9Cu0WiXQHjZFjDqe

MAV293 (MARK)

Yeah, The Mask with Cher is great too! It's amazing that you have a book on John Merrick’s artwork and poetry. Back in middle school, I actually wrote a small book about John Merrick because I’ve always been fascinated by his story. He truly was such a beautiful soul.

Jake Sisk

I like it but my favorite is "the mask" with Cher. John Meric was an amazing man though. I have a book of his artwork and poetry

Melody Netherton

If you loved The Greatest Showman for its message of embracing outcasts, The Elephant Man (1980) offers a deeper, more emotional take on that theme. Both are period pieces tied to the circus, exploring human dignity and individuality in a world that sees the different as spectacles. Based on a true story, it trades glamour for raw humanity, with a touching performance from Anthony Hopkins that led to his iconic role as Hannibal Lecter.

Jake Sisk

Such a great soundtrack! I could never listen to This Is Me and not cry. You should check out this featurette of Keala singing the song at a table read with the rest of the cast, Hugh's reaction is how I feel when I listen to the song. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i-e8ZJBzw8Y

Patty Estrada

YEESSSSSSS (Tyrion Lannister voice as Bron begins winning his trial by combat) 😂🤣😅 FR though amazing show.

Drewcliff82

YES! Watch The Queens Gambit!

Patty Estrada

❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ I generally despise musicals but this is one of few exceptions. A true masterclass and "Never Enough" is an amazing song. When u get the music reactions going you should check out Amon Morrissette's version of the song. It will blow your mind. Also, you should consider checking out the short series "The Queen's Gambit". I know u would love it.

Drewcliff82

Can't wait to watch this. A work friend has been after me to see this one, it's a fave of hers!! Thanks for spurring me on Amber! ❤️. I had listened to the soundtrack before, but love it all even more now that I've watched the movie! Fantastic!!!!! I'd agree probably a top ten fave now!! Thank you so much! ❤️❤️

Debi Bailey

Good choice!!! Would love for you start doing some musicsls. My favorite is Hair. 1970 music, right up your alley.

Charles Allen

This has an absolutely phenomenal soundtrack. Hopefully this leads you down musical movie journey as well. Check out Les Miserables as well. That cast is unbelievable!!

Jeff

Good one!
