Maddog48

‘Aero Zeppelin” is another Nirvana song that gets you pretty amped up

The baby boomers kids grew up in the 90's listening to grunge. I had to ask my son whenever I heard an interesting song in the 90's, and he would tell me the band and song name. The drummer here is Dave Grohl, who started Foo Fighters after Kurt Cobain died.

Gary Morse

Loved this song while growing up!! So happy you are doing music again Amber!! 🥰🥰

Melisa

Please do Nirvana’s Full MTV Performance or their Full LIVE AT THE PARAMOUNT Holloween show

Anthony

If you’re into ‘90s grunge, you’ve gotta check out Mother Love Bone. They were one of the first to do this whole grunge thing, and they did it before it was even called that. They were rough around the edges, blending glam, rock, and metal in a way that really shook up Seattle. Mother Love Bone song suggestions: Stargazer Chloe Dancer/Crown of Thorns Star Dog Champion When Andrew Wood died, it hit the whole scene hard. It left a hole that you can still feel in every grunge band that came after. If you like the raw, messy emotion of Nirvana, the grit of Pearl Jam, the heaviness of Alice in Chains, the weight of Soundgarden, or the soul of Temple of the Dog, you owe it to yourself to experience Mother Love Bone. They were the beginning of it all.

Tori Amos did a slowed down version of this. It's pretty good. There's a video too if I remember right

I love the grunge era of the early 90s. I was in my early 20s and embraced it completely my girlfriend was still a metal head stuck in the 80s. It took me awhile to get her into the whole grunge thing but she eventually came around. We went to see several grunge bands around this time including Nirvana, Soundgarden, Pearl jam, Alice in Chains( some of these we saw at the Lolapalozza festivals) It still remains my fav era of music that I've lived through. My fav era of music I didn't live through is the 60s 😁 Glad you're doing music again Amber ❤️😊 Great reaction

Stephen Ulmer

For many of us "grunge" wasn't accepted completely. I loved "hair bands" and this took a while to get into. Pearl Jam too etc; I never loved all of grunge, just a few songs that are iconic, like this one. Great reaction too it of course!

Boom Bam

Now you need to listen to Smells Like Nirvana by Weird Al

Neal Riggins

If you love ‘90s rock, I highly recommend The Crow: Original Motion Picture Soundtrack and The Crow (1994 film). The Soundtrack – One of the greatest rock soundtracks of all time, packed with raw energy and dark, moody vibes. Featuring iconic ‘90s artists like: The Cure – "Burn" Stone Temple Pilots – "Big Empty" – Nine Inch Nails – "Dead Souls" Pantera – "The Badge" Rage Against the Machine – "Darkness" The Jesus and Mary Chain – "Snakedriver" If you're into moody, atmospheric ‘90s rock with a mix of grunge, industrial, and alternative, The Crow soundtrack is a must-listen. And the movie is a cult classic starring Brandon Lee in his most legendary role. Check them both out you won’t regret it.

Love your channel. I was living in Canada just north of Seattle when Nirvana started to hit big, Saw them around Halloween of 1991 right after Nevermind came out, they were amazing live. Just a couple of deepish dive 90s songs I think you would appreciate. Luscious Jackson - Nervous Breakthrough , L7 - Pretend We Are Dead and Letters To Cleo - Here and Now.

From Episode 22 of my show, Amber....sums it up pretty well for my 20s. Dear Bands of Seattle, Thank you for all of the fuckin AMAZING MUSIC of the 1990's. This past week, Tuesday Night, I was sitting down at the VFW and talking to my Brothers and Sisters about that era of music. The greats, the fallen, the beauty in its sound, no matter that genre, From Tad to Queensrÿche. We just called it great music. Now that we're in our late 40's-mid-50s, these songs bring me back to Germany as a young married soldier with my gorgeous, then wife driving at 150+ MPH on the autobahn with the speakers cranked to fuckin 11 with the top down, to standing atop some of the most beautiful places in Europe a snowboarder could witness, to standing atop of "Freedom Radio" during Operation Joint Endeavor with the most beautiful sunsets over Sarajevo, Bosnia I'd ever seen to seeing all of these bands at various concert venues and music festivals both in Europe and the United States. Just like it was yesterday. Thank you to the parents of the artists on this show today. And my condolences to the families of Adam Wood, Chris Cornell, Kurt Cobain, and Layne Staley. You may be gone from us. But the music you gave us inspired millions to chase their dreams. For that, you will forever remain loved, honored, and remembered. Signed, A Fan Here's the playlist from that show. Some you may recognize, others you may not. All...of these bands, are from Seattle. Home of Sub Pop Records and the scene that killed Hair Metal. Spoonman-Soundgarden Again-Alice In Chains Sea Of Sorrow-Alice In Chains Chloe Dancer/Crown of Thorns-Motherlove Bone Wooden Jesus-Temple of the Dog < Here's the video I made for that song: https://x.com/NorskeMetalhead/status/1894907846132629550 Black-Pearl Jam You-Candlebox Lithium-Nirvana Bullet With Butterfly Wings-Smashing Pumpkins Jet City Woman-Queensrÿche Inhale-Big Wreck My Hero-Foo Fighters Volcano-The Presidents of the United States of America Revolve-The Melvins River Of Deceit-Mad Season Dirty Water Ocean-Green Apple Quick Step Enemy-Freaks of Nature Grease Box-Tad Touch Me I'm Sick-Mudhoney I Hate You-My Sisters Machine Slow Runner-Skinyard Nearly Lost You-Screaming Trees Tribe-Grunktruck And if you want to do a movie reaction, may I suggest Singles. One of the greatest movies ever made. Filmed in Seattle, stellar cast and all the grunge music and cameos by members of Peal Jam and Soundgarden spread throughout. The story is fuggin awesome! Watching you get lost in this song...that's the soul of music, what it can do to your DNA. It's amazing, isn't it? It's great to see you smilin', Rockstar! -The Veterans of Hill 30

SERGEANT ROCK

This was the song that launched Nirvana and really was the catalyst for the alternative/grunge music hitting the mainstream. It was the death of decadence and the renaissance of garage band rock. My favorite Nirvana song isn’t this one, but “Lithium”. What might have been with this band… Here are some other 90s rock suggestions: -“All I Want” Toad The Wet Sprocket -“Just The Way It Is, Baby”-The Rembrandts -“Money City Maniacs”-Sloan -“Set Adrift On Memory Bliss”-PM Dawn -“What Would It Take”-Jeff Lynne

Nirvana Unplugged is a must watch. Kurt singing Where Did You Sleep Last Night is burned into my brain. Actual chills.

Smells like teen spirit was a deodorant in the 80s & 90s, legend has it Kathleen Hanna from bikini kill wrote on Kurt’s wall “kurt smells like teen spirit” Also Kurt always played with his words while singing, constantly changing words, throwing a random word in that might be confused with another word🤣I think he liked messing with us{the fans} Love from Ohio ! 🖤Jami RIP KDC
