2025-03-07 05:38:13 +0000 UTCJameson, the newspaper editor, was the same character on the screen in the post-credit of Far From Home revealing Spiderman's identity. "I want to move into the city" - a very, very NYC thing for someone not living in Manhattan to say.

2025-03-03 03:20:23 +0000 UTCHow cute are you..."You know what? I don't want this to be green anymore" and then changed Bobby's color.

2025-03-02 07:38:03 +0000 UTCThis is how they used to always start films, without an opening scene. And in my opinion you can watch the Blade films anytime. ❤️❤️❤️
Debi Bailey
2025-03-02 06:41:54 +0000 UTCYou can watch blade anytime before Deadpool and Wolverine. Only the Marvel movies in the MCU are connected and that stated in 2008. Any Spider-Man, X-Men, Blade, and Fantastic Four movies are not really connected to the MCU and are treated as being in other universes. So you can see those movies at any time.
Robert Lopez
2025-03-02 04:16:59 +0000 UTCThe other fun part of this movie Sam Raimi directed it most known for the evil dead franchise his little Easter egg is the yellowish Oldsmobile from the evil dead uncle Ben’s car … also Bruce Campbell and Randy Savage BTW have you seen Kick Ass??
John Christopher xcronex
2025-03-02 04:13:01 +0000 UTCBefore the MCU movies, Stan Lee and Marvel had sold the rights to several characters to other production companies. Spiderman, X-Men, Blade and some others. This movie was an origin story for Spiderman and very well done. Marvel has been buying back the rights and incorporating the characters into the MCU.
Steven Costa

2025-03-02 00:18:15 +0000 UTC1:35:00 IMO the MCU had a very negative view of love and romance. It was left to little quips and snarky expressions. But this movie, like many Superhero films of old had so much more heart to them; when I think heart instead of ego or agenda mattered more.
Tim
2025-03-01 22:03:44 +0000 UTCI grew up with Spider-Man and his amazing friends 1981-86. Marvel related you should also watch the Fantastic Four movies & X-Men Movies as well as Blade. Don’t forget Daredevil film & tv series along with Electra film
Mark Pickersgill
2025-03-01 21:45:58 +0000 UTCAmber, Tim Burton made the original Batman movie with Michael Keaton as Batman and both Danny Elfman and Prince handled the score and soundtrack. It's a bit campy, but fun, and has Jack Nicholson as the Joker. Also, Kim Bassinger played Batman's love interest, but ended up dating Prince around this time. Definitely worth checking out!
Patrick Coffey
2025-03-01 21:05:57 +0000 UTCUncle Ben is a huge part of the Spider-man mythos. Tony Stark replaced his importance in the MCU, which sucked.

2025-03-01 20:16:46 +0000 UTCI love those movies. I think they're making another one.....

2025-03-01 18:39:51 +0000 UTCIf I recall correctly, they had a poster. I’m not sure if it was printed or I saw it online that had the world trade centers reflection in Spider-Man‘s eyes. I could be wrong, but that’s what I remember.
Thomas Horton
2025-03-01 16:01:18 +0000 UTCMmm....Venom. A definite watch. All. Tom Hardy. Yeah...
Rowan
2025-03-01 16:01:03 +0000 UTCMy Lord, I forgot about that. Not 9/11, but the images in trailer.
Rowan
2025-03-01 15:59:32 +0000 UTCDefinitely need Blade 3 for later context. Most of the things needed for context are stuff that happened off screen though in a lot of the pre MCU flicks. That's something that can be explained after you watch whichever one.
Rowan
2025-03-01 15:57:46 +0000 UTCGotcha. I was like but... but Christopher Reeves. Showing my age. They'll always be part of me.
Rowan
2025-03-01 15:49:13 +0000 UTCBlade is it's own universe, you ncan watch it at any time. The Marvel films before Disney were all stand-alone universes, they sidn't start the connected MCU till Disney.
Stephen Hallowich
2025-03-01 15:12:27 +0000 UTCKirsten Dunst was great in a movie called “Melancholia.” It’s the farthest thing from a superhero movie, but excellent and definitely worth a watch.

2025-03-01 06:31:23 +0000 UTCWatch Blade 1 and 2 and even 3 at any time. It is in its own universe really.
Tim
2025-03-01 04:49:36 +0000 UTCIt was, I wasn’t talking about success, Batman was successful too. But Superman went two movies too long and Batman the same thing (I’m talking about the 1990’s films). They never jump started a whole string of different superhero films like I think the Raimi Spiderman movies did. Again, I’m not talking about money.

2025-03-01 03:54:12 +0000 UTCAt one point during the reaction you mentioned something about your brother watching power ranger stuff. I wanted to bring it to your attention that there is a Japanese show that the American power rangers seriesis based on. It's called Super Sentai. While I'm not sure if it would be up your alley or not, I feel obligated to tell you. The American power rangers are based off of a Japanese series called Super Sentai. It's been around since the 1960's I believe. As a bit of info, an actor known for playing the original green ranger in the American TV show, Jason David Frank, recently committed suicide. He always talked about conquering fear, but was reported to have committed suicide. For some reason, you need to know.

2025-03-01 03:37:16 +0000 UTCThe only major criticism I got for this Spider-Man movie is the Green Goblin costume. William Dafoe has this distinguished, expressive face that’s perfect for the character! His acting could’ve shone through so much more if they just painted his face green or something instead of throwing that mask on him. I feel like covering up all that amazing performance with the mask totally took away from it, but it was still an amazing performance by William Dafoe. Every time I see the Green Goblin in this movie, he reminds me of Jet Jaguar from the Godzilla franchise. Like, they were intimidating, but it just looked a little… goofy, ya know? I just wish we could’ve seen more of Dafoe’s face, 'cause that dude was killing it!

2025-03-01 03:37:00 +0000 UTCSuperman's first run was quite successful.
Rowan
2025-03-01 03:36:42 +0000 UTCToby is my favorite Spidey, then Tom, followed by Garfield. The best part is that all 3 actors cared about the character, so it was much more than a paycheck.
GQubed
2025-03-01 03:11:26 +0000 UTCTo me this was like a proof of concept film for a newer superhero film. Yes, Superman’s and Batman and Blade existed, but the first two’s runs had ended poorly and didn’t support continuing down that road and Blade was more a Vampire film (which I loved). But the Raimi Spiderman proved this could be done, I watched them in awe and thought Wow they really did it!! and I think there was no Iron Man without them.
Catchermag
2025-03-01 03:09:08 +0000 UTCThe whole theme of Spider-Man is Uncle Ben’s iconic quote: 'With great power comes great responsibility.' That’s the heart of the movie right there! It’s not just a cool line, it's the moral backbone that shapes everything Peter Parker does. I mean, this kid, who could do anything with his newfound powers, learns the hard way that actions have consequences, and it hits him deep. It’s like the universe saying, ‘Yo, you’ve got the power to make a difference, so don’t screw it up!’ That message? Timeless. You hear that line, and you’re like, ‘Yeah, that’s the stuff that makes heroes.
Jake Sisk
2025-03-01 03:04:43 +0000 UTCBlade ???? Ummm now!!!!!!!!!!!! lol
Brandon Wheeler
2025-03-01 02:59:47 +0000 UTCBlade can be watched at anytime. It came out before the Marvel universe was a thing. It's pretty good. Also I cannot tell you how happy I was a few years ago when Marvel legends made a J. Jonah Jameson figure to yell at my spiderman on my shelf lol
Melody Netherton
2025-03-01 02:52:58 +0000 UTCI still can’t believe we almost got a James Cameron Spider-Man movie! Can you imagine? The guy who brought us Terminator 2, Aliens, Titanic and Avatar, taking on Spider-Man? It’s one of those things that makes you go, 'Man, what if?' But hey, sometimes the ‘what could have been’ is just as fun to talk about!
Jake Sisk
2025-03-01 02:36:45 +0000 UTCOh, totally! In the comics, Peter gets hired as a freelance photographer by J. Jonah Jameson to take pics of Spider-Man.
Jake Sisk
2025-03-01 02:22:49 +0000 UTCHere's another fun edition of my brain while watching: Green Goblin: Like a moth to the flame. Me: Burned by the fire... my love is blind can't you see my desire?? That's the way love goes.... It's now on a forever loop in my head. Agghhh!
Rowan
2025-03-01 02:10:40 +0000 UTCYes Doctor Ock, Green Goblin, and the Rhino are all from the classic Spider-Man comics!
Jake Sisk
2025-03-01 02:00:12 +0000 UTCExcept for the fact that Peter built his web shooters in the comic book, they didn’t just come out of his body.

2025-03-01 01:48:39 +0000 UTCMacho Man Randy Savage as the wrestler Bonesaw. That’s just pure gold!
Jake Sisk
2025-03-01 01:46:27 +0000 UTCWilliam Dafoe as the Green Goblin. Fantastic job. I mean, the dude absolutely nailed that role! He’s got that perfect balance of crazy and sinister.
Jake Sisk
2025-03-01 01:14:04 +0000 UTCIt's been at least 20 years since I watched this. Wtaf? Joe Manganiello was Flash?!! There's a couple others that hadn't hit quite yet and it's blowing my mind. This one will always have a special place in my heart. I've loved Spider Man my whole life and grew up with the cartoons, just like Luca. Seeing this in rl format was mind blowing. Tobey Maguire is a great Spider Man. So was Andrew Garfield. Tom Holland took my heart. Tobey had the personality down while Andrew was more physically there. Tom, he's both.

2025-03-01 01:08:10 +0000 UTCHey, Amber! You can totally watch Blade, it ain't gonna mess with the MCU timeline at all. When Marvel kicked off the MCU, they knew most fans had already seen the older Marvel flicks, so they loaded their movies with cameos and Easter eggs as a big ol’ love letter to us. So yeah, watching all those pre-MCU movies? That just enhances your Marvel experience! You’ll be sittin’ there like, ‘Hey, I got that reference!’ or ‘Oh shit, they just threw back to that old-school flick!’ So yeah, watch as many Marvel movies outside of the MCU as you want. Blade is Absolutely worth it. The movie is just badass!
Jake Sisk
2025-03-01 01:05:21 +0000 UTCBefore the MCU kicked off with Iron Man in 2008, Marvel movies were like the Wild West—different studios just doin’ their own thing. Sony had Spider-Man, Fox had X-Men and Fantastic Four, and none of ‘em were connected. Then Marvel was like, ‘Screw it, let’s make one big, beautiful, Marvel universe!’ But here’s the thing Disney swoops in, buys Marvel in 2009, and suddenly, they’ve got all the cash and power to make it happen. Those older movies? Still owned by other studios, still dope in their own way. So yeah, they ain’t part of the MCU timeline, but without ‘em, we wouldn’t have the superhero insanity we’re livin’ in today!
Jake Sisk

2025-03-01 01:01:24 +0000 UTCHere's a list of Spider-Man's biggest villains, especially the ones who made it to the big screen: Green Goblin, Doc Ock, Venom, Sandman, Electro, the Lizard (you heard his name drop in this: Dr. Connors) Others are the Rhino, the Scorpion, the Kingpin
Karl Kraus
2025-03-01 00:56:59 +0000 UTCA question have not related to the movie is why you turned your Bobby Hill light silhouette from green to purple in the middle of the movie. Was the scene at the time making you feel purply or purplish? I am tickled pink knowing Luca is a Spidey fan. I was about his age 1968 i would be glue to the tv watching singing along to the iconic theme song. Spider-Man Spider-Man does what ever a spider can. Spins a web any size catches thieves just like flies. Look out here comes the Spider-Man. Is he strong? Listen Bud he’s got radioactive blood. Can he swing from a thread? Take a look overhead! Hey there there goes the Spider-Man In the chill of night at the scene of a crime like a streak of light he arrives just in time! Spider-Man Spider-Man friendly neighborhood Spider-Man wealth and fame, he’s ignored action is his reward. To him, life is a great big-up Whenever there’s a hang-up You’ll find the Spider-Man!
I am Jussina
2025-03-01 00:54:53 +0000 UTCYou've seen that cynical newspaper editor before, in the mid credits scene of far from home JK Simmons is the actor and he's spectacular as J Jonah Jameson He's just like the 1994 cartoon version
Karl Kraus
2025-03-01 00:51:29 +0000 UTCWith Sony churning out gems like Madame Web and Kraven the Hunter with their Spider-Man license, Disney should just write a big "go away" check to Sony and bring Spidey home, permanently.

2025-03-01 00:30:05 +0000 UTCSince you're seeing these movies AFTER tom holland's spidey instead of BEFORE like the rest of us, i can see your mindset of watching like this But the origin story was already made twice so there was no point in making it again

2025-03-01 00:17:59 +0000 UTCWillem Dafoe (Green Goblin) is an amazing actor. He’s fantastic in The Boondock Saints.

2025-02-28 23:16:20 +0000 UTCYou don’t really need to watch the animated Spider-Man movies “Into the Spider-Verse” and “Across the Spider-Verse” for the MCU, but they are honestly really good. A lot of people argue they are the best Spider-Man movies. They are family-oriented and fun for kids that love Spider-Man too!

2025-02-28 23:13:14 +0000 UTCThis spider man and the second rejuvenated the market for superhero movies, although some would argue x men did that This is the best page to screen adaptation for spider man The villains and fighting are phenomenal

2025-02-28 23:03:53 +0000 UTCMarvel properties changed hands a lot in the 90s and 2000s Fox and Sony (Columbia pictures) had the main stakes Fox merged with Disney and Sony still has spider man's rights, which is why Columbia had joint credit when co-producing the spider man movies you've just seen X men daredevil and fantastic four were fox's property

2025-02-28 22:51:34 +0000 UTCI enjoy Toby Maguire’s Spider-Man above all others. I’m not a comic book fan, but this does want me to read them now. The villains in this series are amazing!!!

2025-02-28 22:51:29 +0000 UTCThat sounds about right... X-Men, Spider Man, The Hulk, Fantastic four, and Venom are the ones I can remember. That's why Hulk and Spidey had to be contacted out to Marvel. That's actually why they started with a lesser known hero - Ironman!
Karen Silvera
2025-02-28 22:47:17 +0000 UTCThe reason some of the Marvel characters are produced by other studios was because in the '90s Marvel was near bankrupt so they sold off some of their intellectual property to raise money. The MCU started in 2008 with characters that weren't licensed by other studios.

2025-02-28 22:23:36 +0000 UTCMarvel Comics went bankrupt in 1997 and to get out of debt sold the movie rights to Sony (for Spiderman), Fox (for the Xmen , and others). In 2006 Marvel had enough money to start their own studio and call it Marvel Studios. In 2008 they released Iron Man. Marvel recently got the rights back to just about all their characters except for Spider Man. Sony will not give him up but made a deal for Marvel to have creative control of the movies and character, but these Toby Mcquire movies and the 2 Andrew Garfield movies are all about Sony control and Marvel having little to no say in them. Only when they got Tom Holland was Spider Man (almost) controlled by Marvel Studios, but not completely.

2025-02-28 22:17:29 +0000 UTCI don’t know the specifics, but marvel comics was having money problems and they started selling off some of their characters to different movie studios so each studio had the rights to different marvel, characters now Disney owns much of marvel and is trying to regain the rest.
