This was originally written for Otis Redding. Sadly, he died before getting the chance to record it and the Bee Gees recorded it themselves. It’s such a stark contrast between the early Bee Gees songs and their later stuff. The early stuff is more melancholic and sad, but beautiful. The later stuff is more joyous and lively. One of my favorite early Bee Gees songs is “The Singer Sang His Song”.

While Robin and Maurice were the actual twins, Barry has said that him and Andy were twins just as much. You should watch their HBO Max documentary, so good (but also sad knowing all the brothers are gone and he’s the only one left).
