If you want something a little different from Andrew Garfield try watching Under the Silver Lake.

2025-03-16 09:21:04 +0000 UTCI really loved both of these Spider-Man movies. My only issue with these films is the way they ended this film with her death. I don’t feel like that was a good choice for a Spider-Man movie. Other than that, the movies were really good. Especially this one.

2025-03-15 18:54:08 +0000 UTCYes, he looked like Leonardo. A weird version where his face was a bit fuller, though not as full as now but with the hair from his youth. It was like looking at an older yet younger version at the same time.

2025-03-13 21:52:50 +0000 UTCI think my favorite Spider-Man movie is still Spider-Man 2, because of Alfred Molina's performance as Doc Ock and that incredible train scene. Next is No Way Home. Cast-wise, I prefer Gwen Stacey as the love interest. She really shines as a character in every iteration of the Spider-Man stories, either in Amazing Spider-Man or Spiderverse. MJ I always found a little annoying, even in the comics, although I like Zendaya's take. Like all good adventure stories, it's the villain who makes the movie, and Spider-Man has some of the coolest villains in the Marvel universe. His rogues gallery is comparable to Batman's in DC, as far as flavor. Green Goblin, Doctor Octopus, Vulture, Mysterio and the rest just scratch the surface. One of his toughest foes is Kingpin, who we have yet to see in a Spider-Man movie, but who appears in the Daredevil series, both Netflix and the new Daredevil Reborn. Personally, I keep hoping for a Spider-Man cameo in Reborn, since Daredevil and Spider-Man have been allies in the comics.

2025-03-13 06:27:12 +0000 UTCAndrew Garfield is my favorite Spider-Man. He's one of my favorite actors. Also, just the overall cast was great in these. He just so good. Toby would be next, with Tom last, but I do loke Tom's Spider-Man. It's just a very different feel with him as an Avenger, but I do like that Spider-Man too.

2025-03-13 05:17:54 +0000 UTCI like all 3 Spider-man actors, so I really rank the movies as my choices. Top 4 films being Spider-man, Spider-man 2, No Way Home and Amazing Spider-man. AS2 was not too bad, even with meh bad guys. SM3 was overload, Venom was too much. The first two MCU Spider-man movies I honestly do not care about at all.

2025-03-13 04:17:34 +0000 UTCChris Cooper (Norman Osborn) was also in 'Me, Myself & Irene'

2025-03-13 00:48:03 +0000 UTCOk. Hear me out. This is going to sound so trivial but what MADE Spider-Man, for me, was animating the eyes. So that puts Tom ahead. If the animation had been there Andrew would have it. He had it until Tom popped in.

2025-03-12 23:25:48 +0000 UTCLuca would never get off that game! But mom!!!! 5 more minutes!!! 😂

2025-03-12 23:22:52 +0000 UTCI have always been a fan Amber but so much of the Marvel stuff is got me yawning.

2025-03-12 23:22:41 +0000 UTCI'm nice on this one. No spoilers. Get those Kleenex before you watch! Mystic Pizza was her first I believe. She was on another before Magnolias with Liam Neeson and Justine Bateman called Satisfaction. That's a guilty pleasure one for me.

2025-03-12 23:19:26 +0000 UTCI love Tobey and Andrew but my fav is Tom Holland (just by a small margin). I think that Tom captures the teen aspect perfectly. People tend to forget that Peter is just a teenager.

2025-03-12 22:28:18 +0000 UTCIf you loved Sally Field’s ( Aunt May) work here, you might want to chek out a film called Steel Magnolias. Amazing, heartfelt drama 👌🏻 And Julia Roberts first film if i remember right..

2025-03-12 16:23:06 +0000 UTCChoosing a favorite Spider-Man is hard. Least favorite is Tom Holland but that doesn't mean bad. I just think the other 2 are better. All three bring something to the table. The thing with Holland is I feel he relied too much on Iron Man and The Avengers where as the other two became their own on their own. We didn't see how Holland became Spider-Man probably because it's already been done twice. I would have to go with the original Tobey Maguire then Andrew Garfield but it's close. I do agree that Gwen Stacy (Emma Stone) was better than MJ (Kirsten Dunst). And yes Landman is a very good show. I liked it alot!

2025-03-12 16:14:08 +0000 UTCNot sure if you or your kids are gamers but the Spider-Man games for PlayStation (both from Sony) are some of the best games made. The stories are great and even just swinging around New York as Spider-Man is fun.
Matthew Stewart
2025-03-12 15:41:51 +0000 UTCMiles Morales is my favorite Spiderman, Andrew Garfield my favorite live action, but Tom Holland worked the best in the MCU as part of a team. Toby McGuire was the first though, so definitely some respect on what he did.

2025-03-12 13:58:00 +0000 UTCMJ is always the love interest in media because she comes AFTER gwen. MJ is who he eventually marries. But Gwen is the one we all love 😤 also the death of Gwen Stacy was a very pivotal moment for spiderman in the comics

2025-03-12 13:24:11 +0000 UTCI’m in the minority I believe, but I actually think the Andrew Garfield spiderman movies absolutely CLEARS the other ones 🤷 don’t get me wrong I love all of them but for me these two films are excellent in so many different facets. The plot, the visuals, the spiderman, etc.

2025-03-12 13:14:40 +0000 UTCI agree 100% with Amber, this version showed the Spider-Man we see in the cartoons and comics too. Gwen is honestly the best and her dying really hurt cuz she was no damsel in distress, she's the best in my opinion.

2025-03-12 11:08:39 +0000 UTCThe death of Gwen Stacy is a big comic ark

2025-03-12 08:08:47 +0000 UTCGwen Stacy's death always gets me. No matter how many times I've seen this movie. But she does come back as Spider-Gwen in a different universe where she gets bit by the spider, not Peter.

2025-03-12 07:17:42 +0000 UTCI was waiting for you to realize that was Ryan LOL

2025-03-12 05:18:11 +0000 UTCMy fav double drop to date. For me Andrew Garfield captures what Spider-Man was for me growing up. The MCU versions just don't do it for me unfortunately. Look forward to more GOT & eventually House of the Dragon.

2025-03-12 04:48:25 +0000 UTCYea it terms of spiderman fighting style he is the best one. He fights and crawls like a spider so well

2025-03-12 04:25:34 +0000 UTCOk in that case: X-Men Origins: Wolverine First Class The Wolverine (extended) Days of Future Past (extended) [Deadpool 2016] (no need to rewatch) Logan 2017 And finally Deadpool 2 (extended)

2025-03-12 02:41:57 +0000 UTCMarch 1973's Amazing Spider-Man #121 marked a huge shift in comics with the death of Gwen Stacy. It is one of the most sought after issues of Spider-man.

2025-03-12 02:33:15 +0000 UTCYeah I agree the villains is one (pretty important) thing the first trilogy did much better
Ben Martin
2025-03-12 02:24:22 +0000 UTCThe villains killed the movies ... 100%. With poor villains ... a movie will stink.
Tim
2025-03-12 01:41:43 +0000 UTCThese movies probably would have been better received if they hadn’t rehashed so much stuff we’d just seen over the previous decade with the Raimi films (mainly Peter’s entire origin story as well as Harry’s story in this one). Even with some changes it still felt largely like a repeat. Unfortunately this one in particular also showcased Sony’s tendency to foreshadow stuff they hadn’t actually totally figured out yet. Like a lot of movie studios, they learned the wrong lessons from the success of the Marvel films
Ben Martin
2025-03-12 01:19:44 +0000 UTCOnly two underrated Marvel movies and one bad one before Spiderman No Way Home. I’m almost as excited as I was for Endgame!!

2025-03-12 01:07:41 +0000 UTCThese are better than i remember. Garfield and Stone were tremendous. Gwen’s death was gut-wrenching. A moment in the comics that affected Peter for a long time.
Joe Gonzalez
2025-03-12 01:05:35 +0000 UTCAmber - one fun fact you might enjoy is that Emma Stone and Andrew Garfield dated for four years after meeting on the first Amazing Spider-Man. Before Tom Holland and Zendaya became a thing. Dating your Spider-man love interest seems to be a theme, lol.
The Mad Icelander
2025-03-12 00:48:56 +0000 UTCStan Lee didn’t plan Gwen Stacy’s death but gave the creative team more freedom while he was away. Upon his return, he was shocked to learn they had killed her off. Though initially upset, Lee later acknowledged that her death was a bold move that helped Spider-Man mature, despite the emotional toll on fans and Peter Parker. Lee has consistently stated in interviews that Gwen’s death has always been a sore spot for him.

2025-03-11 23:32:43 +0000 UTCHey, Amber. Adding to your post today about Marvel, sooner or later we gotta get you to watch the X-Men films. I promise you: most of them are good, and you’ll definitely need to watch a majority of those to understand Deadpool & Wolverine. That won’t happen for a while so you still have plenty of time. By the way, the Deadpool films are part of the X-Men franchise but those have a chronological order too. So don’t watch those yet. Once you watch the first X-Men film, we’ll map out a plan. In the meantime, don’t forget about the animated Spider-Verse films. Those are iconic in their own right, and almost every reactor I know has seen them by now. At the time of this comment, Ashleigh Burton has seen the first one but she won’t watch the sequel yet.

2025-03-11 23:14:23 +0000 UTCIn this Spider-Man universe Gwen Stacey is the love interest.
Jeff
2025-03-11 22:57:19 +0000 UTCGlad you got through these two. They had promising elements, and I liked the casting for the leads. Generally, pretty unremarkable and forgettable movies imo.

2025-03-11 22:28:33 +0000 UTCNow if you really want to go down the Rabbit Hole, you can do the X-men movies.
Theo Harris
2025-03-11 22:13:01 +0000 UTCAndrew Gardield is for me the greatest Spiderman that we had on big screen. Tom and Tobey are amazing in their own way but Andrew take the crown imo. So sad that he didn’t get a third movie
