Now that you've watched "Alien" and "Aliens", I'd personally recommend jumping straight to "Alien Romulus". It takes place between "Alien" and "Aliens".

2025-03-26 19:46:29 +0000 UTC“Was it Spaceballs” Yes, and in Spaceballs they had the same actor, John Hurt, who played Kane in Alien. That’s why he said “oh no, not again.” He also played Olivander in the Harry Potter films.

2025-03-26 15:33:14 +0000 UTC"You're just some dude with an opinion that I and I'm sure others...could give f*ck all about." Ditto. My opinion was that you appear to be trying to manipulate someone into what to watch and not watch. "loudmouth" Wow, coming from you...the irony is real. You have zero self awareness Sergeant Cock and an axe to grind.

2025-03-26 00:55:07 +0000 UTCOther James Cameron movies you've seen and reacted to? Together with this, Terminator 1&2 and Titanic. Other notable Cameron movies that would be worth your time are the Avatar series, The Abyss and True Lies.

2025-03-26 00:27:29 +0000 UTCGFGWACSS, Gary. When it comes to reaction videos, trash movies don't get views nor generate ad revenue. It's a proven fact. What, you want her channel to crash out? Way to show. I give advice. Why do I know this, I'm in the game myself. So, if you don't like what I have to say, man; I really don't care. Let me ask you this, genius. You're a car salesman, you know the car on the lot and in the showroom is a hunk o' sh*t, right? You're still going to have to do everything you can, to sell that car. Then it hits you. I'm at the wrong place of employment. Then you quit. And you go to where they sell quality cars the public likes and your name gets around town as "The Guy to see if you need a new car". You stopped dealing in sh*t and went where the money can be made. Break it down to layman's terms enough for you, loudmouth. I'd rather help a creator along with their journey in movies and save them the time. Hell, even Amber said it in her Alien and Aliens videos, man! "I've heard everything after Aliens is pretty bad." < Do you think she'd waste her time where she wouldn't even break 50K views vs. a movie, like she just did, Gladiator that's going to benefit her channel with 10s of 1000s of views and ad revenue? Bossy, no. Hell no. What I'm stating is fact. I don't blow smoke up the ass of a creator so "I can have her watch what I suggest!", like I'm sure you're hoping for. I know per other creators what movies sell (Alex Hefner comes to mind, dude's makin BANK with his channel. Mr. Movies, among others) I pay attention to the market research. Put out sh*t, get sh*t in return. Put out gold, get gold in return. You're not a content creator. You're just some dude with an opinion that I and I'm sure others...could give f*ck all about.

2025-03-24 22:21:54 +0000 UTCHiya Amber, if you want to be terrified by a movie series, Paranormal Activity, if you want some really hardcore stuff check out Quentin Tarantino's Death Proof, Robert Rodriguez' Planet Terror, Meir Zarchi's I Spit on Your Grave, Yeon Sang-ho' Train to Busan, Tommy Wirkola's Dead Snow, Breck Eisner's The Crazies, Don Coscarelli's Phantasm, Wes Craven's The Hills Have Eyes, (The 2006 version is pretty beast to by Alexandre Aja), Dan O’Bannon's The Return of the Living Dead, Wolfgang Petersen's Outbreak, just to name a few from my DVD collection.

2025-03-24 20:59:03 +0000 UTCDespite not having seen Alien, going to the theater to see this movie ended up somehow being the first date between my late ex-wife and me. Since it's also a great action movie with a truly badass heroine, this one is special to me

2025-03-24 15:43:09 +0000 UTCRomulus is ok, being a-prequel; but it still pales compared to the first two and thus- not stellar. Better movies for her to spend her time watching as Romulus is just a rehash of what she has seen already in many ways.

2025-03-24 11:57:04 +0000 UTCThis is one of my favorite films. I saw Aliens for the first time on dvd or cable back in the day. If you get the physical copy of this. Check out SF features including the making of with JAmes Cameron. He had alot of problems making this film.

2025-03-24 11:04:40 +0000 UTCThe prometheus movies, although not without their flaws, are still very solid sci-fi movies without a doubt. And you're tripping if you think Alien Romulus doesn't put itself up there. These are ABSOLUTELY worth watching. Alien 3, Resurrection, and the AVP movies can be skipped.

2025-03-24 08:45:35 +0000 UTCSometimes it's really hard to watch people born after 2000 watching these movies when they don't really have a reference point to how revolutionary and ahead of the times some of these movies were. The 80's and 90's had to figure things out without Computer Generated Images!! (CGI, I know, but sometimes spelling it out makes you really think about how amazing Practical Effects are). Watching some of these scenes, you'd think they are CGI. This was the first time we saw James Cameron at his best.

2025-03-24 07:40:02 +0000 UTCI did not like Alien 3 or any of the others. The third one was such a big disappointment after this one. I think they should have left it after this. If you want a sci fi horror with a similar feel but more on the horror spectrum then I would recommend Event Horizon.

2025-03-24 06:58:28 +0000 UTCYou've seen The Thing already so, I guess I would suggest watching Annihilation with Natalie Portman. Has one of the greatest "monster" moments in recent movie history. Also recommend Pitch Black, Event Horizon, A Quiet Place, The Fly (1986). But I do really want you to check out Blade Runner and Blade Runner 2049.

2025-03-24 06:37:52 +0000 UTCThe Dark Horse comic run from the late 80s/early 90s of an Aliens sequel was amazing. That is my canon ending for the franchise. Everything after is just beyond bad. Think Alien 3 was the first movie I saw when it came out, I was a teen; that generally angered me. Seems like killing franchises has become a sport since. :P
Tim
2025-03-24 06:34:37 +0000 UTCI've only seen the theatrical version of Aliens. I'm not sure about the restored footage of the colonists towards the beginning. I think it flowed much better and was more suspenseful without any of that, where they just show up and everything has gone to hell. There are of course people who will defend Aliens 3, but to me, it always seemed "small" in comparison to the first 2, if that makes sense. 3 went through a TON of scripts and re-writes (which should tell you something), and the filmakers purposely "corrected" things they didn't like in Aliens. It just didn't work for me. Even the director of Aliens 3, David Fincher, doesn't like it.
Jon
2025-03-24 05:46:41 +0000 UTCThe APC (Armored Personnel Carrier) was an actual vehicle used in mining to haul crews deep into the mine. They added the turret gun to it. The heavy guns that Vasquez and Drake carry are using the armature of a Steadycam. A Steadycam is a camera designed to swivel a camera with the camera operator remaining mobile while keeping the camera motion stabile.

2025-03-24 04:57:36 +0000 UTCas a teenager i saw this movie in Westwood (LA) on an opening night... life changing. Theaters (back then) were approx 4 times the size of theatres im used too in the midwest. Screen size was Imax size without being imax.. back in 86 im not sure if imax was a thing. Anyway...ive never waited outside for 90 minutes in a line stretched around the block for anything. I was assured id 'get in' because i could not understand how large the theatres in Hollywood \ LA were.... (this area is not there anymore :( ). Anyway... it was 100% sold out... another first for me...id never seen so many seats... it was huge. Normal for locals i guess... then the sound... OMG at the beginning during the welding open of that door... to start the film... it almost hurt my ears it was so thunderous... seats literally shook... the experience clearly moved me as a tourist. And influenced my career choice of working in TV\ FILM - we have all heard a few people scream or cheer or yell at the screen... i was told locals were VERY intelligent film watchers and reacting out loud especially at highly anticipated openings was somewhat normal. WOW... every jump scare, tense moment... never in 30 yrs have i had a movie theatre crowd response so immersive... it was not annoying... EVERY one was into it... one giant conscious group in this together.... I was about 16 then. All of this and the movie just started.... so im typing this before watching Ambers review... its by far my faveorite of the franchise but clearly i had a once in a lifetime experience... 4 wide sections of seats and balcony.... had to be over 1000 easy... anyway just sharing which is harmless i hope.. lol.. my mini crush on Sigourney Weaver started here... my career i came sorta close to seeing her doing freelance work for Avatar \ Cameron in LA... visuals for creating the movie... but not IN the movie... longer story but we did get to meet James briefly and see studio's etc... missed Sigourney though.. :(. just writing this is a bit cathartic for me even if no one reads it. Movies havent come close to this kind of experience again... Imax helped... the Pandemic all but killed the experiences and screens the size i saw in Westwood... felt like 20 stories tall... just massive. Not everything has gotten better with tech... cant wait to work late tonight on some more animation while having this reaction play next to me... thanks for covering this and your genuine reactions Amber... it allowed me to reminisce one more time on a dear and impactful event in my life.
Scott
2025-03-24 04:56:35 +0000 UTCI would stop watching Alien films after this one. Nothing else even comes close.
Tim
2025-03-24 04:39:38 +0000 UTCThe first movie I would classify as horror, but this sequel I love much better. I would classify this one as an action movie. This is where Ripley comes in to her own. This is by far the best of the Alien series. The 4th movie has Winona Ryder in it (Joyce from Stranger Things).

2025-03-24 04:10:26 +0000 UTCI really can't muster much sympathy for Hudson. Not happy he died, but he was the loudest braggart at the start, going on about what a badass he was. He ended up being the biggest chickensh@t in the bunch.

2025-03-24 01:59:35 +0000 UTCYou asked about the actor who played the funny guy. That’s the late Bill Paxton. He was never quite an A-list movie star, but he was a really good supporting actor in a lot of good movies. Twister is the only one I can think of where he was the leading man, but you’ve probably seen him before and will likely see him again.

2025-03-24 00:41:10 +0000 UTCAmber, I highly recommend Blade Runner (Final Cut) (1982)! It’s a sci-fi thriller with stunning visuals, deep storytelling, and a cyberpunk world that pulls you in. If you enjoyed Alien and Aliens, this is a perfect next watch. While it’s not as intense or terrifying as Aliens, it’s more thought-provoking. Plus, Blade Runner was directed by Ridley Scott (the mastermind behind Alien).
