If it's not Medium or device issue than why do I not have any problems? This whole year people have either complained they couldn't hear Amber or she was too loud both at the same time. I do think the mix from the edit has changed from episode to episode along with subtitles or not subtitles. There is a difference in audio quality depending on what device you use. Watching on a laptop with its speakers is totally different than on a smart tv with a soundbar with dolby, stereo, etc

2025-10-10 01:03:54 +0000 UTCI know I am commenting late, but the volume of the episode is barely audible compared to the volume of your commentary. This is not a device or a browser issue, as some have suggested. This is a mixing issue. Whoever you have editing these simply needs to balance the two audio sources better. Either turn up the volume of the episode or turn down the volume of your commentary to strike a better balance. Just a friendly suggestion for future reactions -- I really enjoy your channel and your commentaries, keep up the great work!

2025-05-29 02:58:15 +0000 UTCThe one decent thing about this is as much as I love Jamie he played himself again and again over picking the wrong woman. I was done with him when he left Brieane. He could have been a good man with her but choose the dark side.

2025-04-26 00:01:30 +0000 UTCLast year they announced the snow show was not happening. Kit Harrington announced it first then HBO did after him. They couldn’t agree with the storyline.

2025-04-24 16:50:54 +0000 UTCYou've probably already filmed the finale but will you do any sort of wrap up video ? :) jw! I always like to ask at the end - Do you think the White Walkers are truly gone? I like to bring up s4e4 end scene - with the baby being turned but in that Stonehengeish looking circle around them. Do you think the Walkers did some sort of ritual? I DO! I have nothing to go off of info wise but I just think that would and could be a loophole in the Long Night and the possibility of this so called show "Snow" being produced [which I think is something the are doing but purposely waiting until HotD is done or even longer bcuz Hollywood is forward cash cow strategic like that now]. & they could "fix" some things. Anyways! I'm sure lots of people might enjoy a Q& A if you would do something like that. Either way! Looking forward to House of The Dragon! 🔥 🩸 keep up the epic work 🤩

2025-04-24 01:06:06 +0000 UTC"Why did they _____?" Sums up season 8 perfectly. A perfectly normal reaction to this episode. Essentially, the show runners (lead writers) had run out of source material starting in season 6 (the books) and were wanting to wrap up this show to move onto something else. They did get some hints from George R.R. Martin, but season 8 was too rushed, and things seemed to happen in the wrong order, and things that seemed so important earlier in the show became much less important in the end, some of them pretty insignificant, and some things meant completely nothing (abandoned storylines, terrible character arcs). 1 more to go! Still, overall, this was a fantastic series. I think almost everyone could think of better ways to have ended it, though. I didn't think I'd watch Game of Thrones again, but it's been fantastic experiencing it again with you, Amber!

2025-04-18 00:56:28 +0000 UTCThere’s only one party to blame. Not the actors, not the characters, but the creators/showrunners: Dan & Dave. This episode—and by extension, this whole season—is universally hated for what they to the storyline. This series should have been 10 seasons, but they announced they’d leave on season 6. So Seasons 7 & 8 were haphazardly written just to bring “closure” to the show and this is what the fans got. At least you had the chance to see the long-awaited “Clegane Bowl”. You should also check out plenty YouTubers accounts commenting on it with videos like “How to Ruin a Great Show”. Honestly, GOT should’ve been the greatest TV Series of all time. Now, with seasons 7 and 8, a perfectly great and flawless series got ruined. Thanks again Dan & Dave. They are also now universally hated by GOT ardent fans. PS. They didn’t even mention the legend of Azor Aha’i and his rebirth, who, with the blade lightbringer, supposed to bring the end to the long night.

2025-04-17 09:27:59 +0000 UTCI can't ever recommend this show due to the last couple of seasons. The rushed nature of it, the complacent writing, and the destruction of character consistency taints the entire series.
Michael
2025-04-17 08:35:47 +0000 UTCYou can't argue with someone who thinks the last couple of seasons didn't have inconsistent, lazy writing and character choices. It's self-evident and even commented on by most of the people who had any hand in producing the show. Anyone who doesn't realize this is beyond logic/reasoning.

2025-04-17 08:31:11 +0000 UTCThe foreshadowing was there. She made threats all throughout the show. And she had just suffered significant losses and was clearly grieving. But Dany was also the breaker of chains and had a "gentle heart" as Jorah put it. She actually cared about people. The writers needed to give this part of the story a chance to breathe. We saw this part of Dany's decline in just one episode. It was rushed and it was jarring. So much so, I do not enjoy the final two episodes of Season 8 at all. And I really did get sick of Jon saying "She's my queen". It's like they stopped caring about the script, particularly the dialogue. Not to mention, Cersei got the worst death, killed by falling bricks. She really needed to be lit up by fire or something just as dramatic. She was one of the main antagonists from the very beginning and we were waiting for such a long time for her to die!

2025-04-17 06:48:37 +0000 UTCWhile we all fell in love with Dani, we have to remember that life is not fair, nor do things ever go as we expect them to. As much as I would have loved a fairy tale ending with Jon and Dani sharing the throne, in the end, Jon was his adopted fathers son that, like his father, never wanted the throne and Dani was a true Targaryen. Probably cursed by their inbred history to go total whack-a-doodle in the end. According to the King slayer, her father was yelling "burn them all!" when Jaime killed him. She became her father.
Steven Costa
2025-04-17 06:47:46 +0000 UTCDaeneyrs problem was she trusted too many outsiders towards the end. Her advisors let her down repeatedly. Tyrion was still trying to save his family & Varys committed treason. I believe the writers should have slow played it a little more but I totally understand why she did what she did. Right or wrong.

2025-04-17 06:21:00 +0000 UTCThe entire show was building to this and it was foreshadowed many times. Way Back in Season 1 Episode 10, Dany said "I will take what is mine with fire and blood." and we all cheered.

2025-04-17 05:17:55 +0000 UTClol what? Dawg even the cast agrees this whole season was horrible lmao! Damn straight it was lazy writing, they rushed the hell out of this ending because the creators were too eager to start on their now canceled star wars project. GRRM himself even said that this show should have gone on much longer, instead we have this abrupt excuse for an ending. And no, "great shows and movies" aren't all full of fanbases unanimously hating the endings, that's pure delusion and cope

2025-04-17 04:09:59 +0000 UTCHonestly this is one of my favorite episodes in the show...I do think season 8 has several top tier episodes. Especially after having seen this show multiple times on my own/multiple reactors viewing it... As far as Dany being predictable with this...there have definitely been signs pointing to it all throughout the series even since early on. Then she loses her advisors one by one. Granted, it might have been a bit rushed, but definitely there have been signs. This episode, specifically with the Hound/Arya moment (loved when she called him by his actual name and thanked him), Tyrion/Jaime moment, Hound getting to dive into his worst fear in order to finish his brother, etc. Really enjoyed it. And, yes, Hound's name is Sandor. You seemed a bit confused about what was happening in that scene...he told her if she came with him she would die there (he had been after revenge all his life, and he knew his revenge would end up killing him as he was going deeper into the building that Dany was attacking)...he snapped Arya out of her mindset for revenge against Cersei in order to convince her to leave and have a chance to live. No need to apologize, it is your honest reaction.

2025-04-17 03:17:05 +0000 UTCGame of Thrones from the very beginning showed everyone that watched that no one was safe! It never waivered nor apologized for taking out key characters right away! Game of Thrones has always told us exactly what we were in for and it wasn't going to be a happy ending! We all fell for it including me, we all wanted Daenerys Stormborn Of House Targaryen, Rightful Heir To The Iron Throne, Rightful Queen Of The Andals And The First Men, Protector Of The Seven Kingdoms, The Mother Of Dragons, The Khalessi Of The Great Grass Sea, The Unburnt, The Breaker Of Chains to fulfill what we all believed to be her destiny when we watched that beautiful girl bathe in boiling water to meet her soon to be husband, Khal Drogo and make her way to King's Landing to sit on The Iron Throne..........but when a woman loses that beloved Husband, her unborn child, and before her very eyes loses her other children in Viserys The Dragon and Rhaegar The Dragon, and her best friend Missandei beheaded right in front of her, it tends to change a woman!!!!

2025-04-17 03:05:41 +0000 UTCAnd now you're seeing what I've (and others) have been talking about. The lazy writing. The once-smart characters turned to dumbasses or complete idiots because George's writing was no longer behind them, so Dumb & Dumber didn't know how to write them anymore. The complete lack of any intelligent dialogue. Characters making stupid asinine choices, like Jaime leaving Brienne, after all of those seasons of his character redemption. Tyrion (The smartest person in Westeros) being an idiot. Varys being an idiot. Jon and the "muh queen" and "I dunt wannit" bullshit. People teleporting across the world in an instant when the journey used to take an entire season. The scorpions being auto-target in one scene, and completely inept the next. And Dany going from one of the most beloved characters in the history of television, to a psychopath in 5 short episodes. I could go on and on. But a lot of it has to do with the next episode. And believe you me. You're in for a shitshow of inept proportions.

2025-04-17 02:02:26 +0000 UTCNo doubt. To be fair, is wasn't just Missandei's death pushing Dany over the edge. She felt betrayed by Varys, Tyrion, Jon Snow -- and not just because he told Sansa about his parentage, but because he rejected her as a lover and partner. He could only see her as queen, a detachment that really cut her deep. Dany felt she was ENTIRELY alone after that. None of which is justification for what she ended up doing, but the potential for insanity was always there and all that pressure at once, plus the knowledge that the city's surrender left Cersei alive, just made her snap. At least it may be said of her that she was pushed by tragic circumstance into madness...I don't know that her father had any such excuse when HE tried to burn it all down.
Michael Griffin
2025-04-17 01:53:40 +0000 UTCThis is right when hollywood began to lose it's grip on what morality is. Quick money grabs with messaging and lack of respect for the authors of these great stories. Who knew that George RR's opus would be treated this way even as Amazon ravages his idols work. Also your reaction was ALL of us haha
GQubed
2025-04-17 01:52:47 +0000 UTCYou are having the same reaction that thousands of GOT fans had when we watched this episode. Dany’s descent into chaos was too fast for us to be able to appreciate the personality change. Although it’s certainly understandable. In quick succession, she lost one dragon to Wight Walkers, then Mormont in the battle against them, not to mention a huge part of her army, another dragon to Greyjoy and then Missandei to Queen Cerci. To top it all off, she feels like she’s losing the throne and Jon. So for her “coin to flip” makes a lot of sense. I just don’t think the writers did enough to illustrate that in this abbreviated season.
Susanna
2025-04-17 01:50:22 +0000 UTCI echo everyone else, including you, Amber, in saying (or having said) "What the actual f***k just happened???!!!" No apologies necessary, you were all of us! An insane end...at least almost end...and Cersei needed to die better--well, worse for her, better for us! That was a let down, after all the crap she did through 7 seasons just to die in a cave in?
Marc Lamoureux
2025-04-17 01:44:23 +0000 UTC...and sooooo much blow-back from that scene, too!!!

2025-04-17 01:38:10 +0000 UTCYou're right. Ignoring warning signs is definitely a theme throughout GoT/ASOIAF. A lot of people ignore a lot of things until it's far too late.
Robby Mack
2025-04-17 01:36:56 +0000 UTCDon't worry, it's not you. You are right to be upset. They simply didn't put in the narrative work needed to make any of this feel narratively satisfying. "What am I watching?" you ask? Sadly, you're watching a beloved show destroy its own legacy overnight. Others are right that it's not as bad on rewatch, but that's because we know what to expect. There's a reason almost everyone hates season 8...because it's objectively bad compared to the rest of the show. "There were signs with Dany" is not the same as her complete 180 degree turn feeling narratively justified. It wasn't justified, not yet. Game of Thrones was the biggest thing on the planet for years. It completely disappeared from our cultural zeitgeist almost literally overnight after this season and only returned years later with House of the Dragon. Yes, you can do mental gymnastics to make this ending feel better than it is, but you're not obligated to do so and you're completely justified if you're mad at the show and the writers. You'll feel better about it with time. We all did ❤️

2025-04-17 00:12:39 +0000 UTCDamn it, I have stuff to say and I keep forgetting! The scenes that I found the most beautiful were Arya and The Hound's mirroring. You hit it right Amber, that man was like a father to her. To watch them struggle to stand and run/fight was a beautifully choreographed dance. My favorite single shot of a scene EVER is next episode. I'm certain all of you know which one. Pretty sure you've already seen it by now. Stunning. I have a print of it on my wall. Breathtaking.

2025-04-17 00:00:57 +0000 UTCA great reaction. Don't apologize for reacting the moment imo. Dany's coin just landed. It's been flipping in the air this whole time. But it landed after the bells rang. Would Jon be a terrible conqueror and unfit for rule if he had been told his whole life that he was a Targaryen, that his father had been murdered and his family eradicated by a usurper to the throne, if he had been on the run from assassins for much of his life, if her had been sold into marriage and slavery, and the only way he could ever ensure his survival was through violence and revolution? Would he start believing it was his destiny to rule and that the throne was his birthright because he survived being burned and was the Father of Dragons? Would Dany be regarded as the best choice for the throne if she had been raised by the Starks as a bastard, served in the Night's Watch, learned about honour and betrayal from a father, a Lord Commander, and her first love north of the wall? Would she turn away from her destiny despite being resurrected, despite liberating Winterfell and being named Queen of the North, despite pledging herself to a Dragon King and defeating the army of the dead? We'll never know.

2025-04-16 23:48:41 +0000 UTCIn hindsight this episode is REALLY good. I know we didn’t get the ending many fans want, but now that I’m watching it again for the first time since it aired, it’s a really compelling piece of television.

2025-04-16 23:42:47 +0000 UTCI see the title in two ways. The way it was intended. I think it was also intended as, Dany got her bell rung and all I heard was cuckoo, cuckoo. I was sus by end of S5.
Rowan
2025-04-16 23:42:46 +0000 UTCSo George R.R. Martin said the show could have gone on for many more season. However, the producers of the show wanted to move on to other projects. Originally, Daenerys’s decline was supposed to be more gradual. Also, if you ever rewatch the series, pay more attention to Daenerys. She shows signs throughout the entire series. In the previous episode, Varys actually explains what the real issue with Daenerys is to Tyrion. It’s not just a matter of jealousy or revenge. Tyrion will explain it better in the next episode.

2025-04-16 23:29:46 +0000 UTCYou have been on such a journey. This was a tough episode for me originally. I rooted for Dany from the beginning and to see her take this turn was so frustrating for me. I had grown to value Varys so much, but I guess it just shows you more how much Jon is the correct choice. I really hope you are going to continue once the series is over and go on to watch. House of the Dragon. By the time you are caught up on that, if will probably be time for the brand new GOT series "The Adventures of Dunk and Egg" which will premiere later this year and then caught up for when House of the Dragon returns after that. There are two more series in the initial works but I don't want to mention it because one might be a very welcome surprise, but no point in mentioning it before you have finished GOT. People have really struggled with these episodes because they are just guesses at what will actually happen when the final book comes out, but he is so busy with the other shows it has showed down the process. If you want a sort of funny shock to the system. Go back and watch the first episode again - all the Starks are BABIES! Just one to go....and I after this one I really felt like, where CAN it go? Also, at the time the actresses who played Arya and Cersei wanted to be that Arya kills Cersei while wearing the face of Jamie.

2025-04-16 23:16:01 +0000 UTCThe signs were there all along with Dany. We just didn't want to see it. We just pushed those concerns and feelings aside. But seriously, didn't we all know that she was kind of losing it? Especially by the time that she roasted Sam's father and brother? As for Cersei...yeah, another unpopular opinion, more bad writing in this episode. Another storyline that was built up over 7 seasons. The main reason behind Arya becoming what she is was to eventually kill Cersei. But nope, she died in the arms of her brother-lover under a falling building. Jon should've killed the Night King. Arya should've kill Cersei. These are two payoffs that the fan deserved, but never received. One episode to go....

2025-04-16 22:18:41 +0000 UTCI love Dany but she was wrong for this. I think Dany was questionable the whole series. We just loved her because she overcame and conquered the "evil". This episode just reminded us that everyone isn't black or white....good or evil. It broke my heart to see her pain and anger get the best of her. She has lost alot but you can't just kill innocent people....and children! So sad.
