2025-07-09 02:53:28 +0000 UTCHiya, Amber, While conducting pre-production for Episode 107 of SGT Rock's Headbangers Ball. I'm sitting here jamming to tunes and this came across my monitor screen. 92 million views can't be wrong! I can tell you this...this song....is going to grip you quick and take you on a sonic rollercoaster that at the end of it you're gonna need a stiff drink, a cigarette, or a cold shower, or all three! I listen to this when the brain brings me back to the "Seven Years of Pain Tour" aka my 2nd wife who was more toxic than the Love Canal! This year marks the big 20 years being free from that viper! I give you... Song: Cut the Cord Band: Shinedown Album: Threat to Survival Label: Atlantic Records Date of Release: 29 June 2015 Song Meaning: "Cut the Cord" by Shinedown is a hard rock anthem about breaking free from toxic influences, reclaiming personal freedom, and embracing self-empowerment. Lyrically, it focuses on rejecting manipulation, negativity, or oppressive forces—whether external (like toxic relationships or societal pressures) or internal (self-doubt or fear). The phrase "cut the cord" symbolizes severing ties with anything holding you back, urging listeners to take control of their lives and rise above adversity. The song’s aggressive riffs and soaring vocals amplify its message of defiance and liberation, making it a motivational call to action. Frontman Brent Smith has described it as a declaration of independence, reflecting the band’s own journey to overcome challenges in their career and personal lives. Enjoy! PS: If you ever get the chance to see Shinedown? GO! You'll thank me for it! Amazing stage show and those boys throw down hard!

2025-05-22 02:58:30 +0000 UTCAmber if you love music, which I see you do, have you ever thought of reacting to the tv series Glee? It runs 6 seasons and lots of music. This song is actually in it, Puck sings it to his daughter.

2025-05-18 11:50:42 +0000 UTCI love that you stopped for Cold as Ice, I know it dates me a bit, but Foreiner was huge when I was in Jr High. The First two albums had come out in a short time of each other and were big at those dances in 7th and 8th grades. Of course by high school I was into the B-52s, Devo as well as Punk, Things changed fast in the late 70s and early 80s.

2025-05-17 11:24:13 +0000 UTCAmber, this has been one of my favorites since it came out. It ignites your passions listening to it and it doesn’t let you go. And, let’s face it, his voice and style are superior to most singers in the genre except maybe Steve Perry. Now the lyrics mean a lot as most guys can identify with the sentiment pretty easily. I know I did back then and do to this day. Most of us have spent time waiting for that one special girl in our lives at one point or another. And, if we are lucky enough, may find “The One” at some point. We just hope to find one that also thinks we are “The One. Unfortunately, a lot of us never find “the One” or find her but she doesn’t feel the same way about us. Such are the travails of heartache. We just hope to survive the occurrence. Peace and Love, Gary

2025-05-17 01:41:15 +0000 UTCI think the time has come for more Tom Petty. My suggestions: "Something Good Coming" this is one of his newer songs but so meaningful. It's so good, it's on my list of songs that I can only listen to about once a year so it never gets old (Stevie Ray Vaughan's Life by The Drop is another song on this list). I think you will appreciate it more than most. "Rebels" is suggestion # two. I love Tom's vocals in this one. And finally if you want to laugh "Girl on LSD".

2025-05-17 01:39:41 +0000 UTCIt feels so wrong that although I was very familiar with this song before, now it always reminds me of GTA Vice City

2025-05-16 23:55:06 +0000 UTCAnother fun fact, the synth parts on this song were performed by Thomas Dolby (She Blinded me with Science).

2025-05-16 23:53:47 +0000 UTCThis song was in 1984 Footloose and also Stranger Things. Lou Gramm was lead singer. Side note: it was produced by Mutt Lange, the ex-husband of Shania Twain.
