2025-05-18 02:51:11 +0000 UTCFirst Time I heard Korn, I was with my Army Brothers at this venue called "Der Schwimmbad Music Club" across the street from Heidelberg University, Heidelberg, GE. We'd just finished rockin' out to Slayer's Rain in Blood and then the intro started to Blind. That Caveman DNA kicked in after Dave's first "doooom" on the buffer head, and then the guitar and then...Jonathan Davis comes in, "ARE YOU READY!" Holy shit, this is brand new music! Out we went, full mosh. When the song ended, we went up to the DJ booth, in German we asked, "Who was that you just played." The DJ replied, "A new band out of Orange County, California, Korn with a K." "Thanks, man!" The next day, we rolled out to the Media Markt in Heidelberg and bought 3 copies. One to play at home, one for the field, and one for the collection. Yeah, I was that guy. "The Collector". Amber, Korn's catalogue is long and mosh stirable. I'm glad you're getting into the Nü-Metal side of the house. It's a great genre with great bands. You've done Slipknot, Limp Bizkit and Korn. There is a fourth and their name is Deftones, closing out the Big 4 of Nü Metal (even though I personally thing Deftones is more Prog/Fusion Metal). You're going to love their style and Chino is a genius. If I was to introduce you to Deftones. I'd start with these three to show their diversity of style. You will..move and groove, ma'am. That...is a guarantee and them LIVE? Oh. One of the best shows out there! I would love to see your reaction to them. One being the best fucking on the planet. There are millions of kids out there today and adults as well who've gone through what Jonathon did. And at 14 is a timeless classic of Korn's where David Silveria's drumming really shines. I still think it's his best work. But, the Bridge...oh...that fuckin bridge and the kick in the teeth it delivers! Amber, I wouldn't steer ya wrong, Headbanger! But don't forget about Deftones now...But...on with content that will garner you millions of views in the future! Enjoy! You're officially a "Korn Kid" now! Regards, SGT Rock 1.
