Hey from Tulsa! You should check out a couple of VERY funky Bowie. “Stay” and “Right”. Trivia: The video clip for “Right” has a very young Luther Vandross. Bowie discovered him and had Luther as a backup singer for a while. 🤩 Also, I don’t know if anyone has told you about David’s eyes. His eyes are actually the same color but one pupil was permanently dilated. It happened when he was a teenager. He was fighting over a girl and either got punched or fell into something that damaged his eye. He said he retained normal vision in it.

I had lost my dad in Oct. of 2015 so I was still grieving and then I found out Bowie had passed on a cold Monday morning…. I was certainly thankful that I happened to be on vacation that week. I cried and grieved for the loss of two people who meant so much to me. Two very different people who shaped who I am. I’m convinced that the world went to 💩when David Bowie left us in 2016. His music saved my life so many times. 🩵⚡️

2025-06-07 21:40:19 +0000 UTCWhen you’ve gone through a lot of his earlier catalog check out his last album called ‘Blackstar’. It’s a legend coming to grips with his impending mortality and IMO one of Bowle’s top 3 albums he ever put out. Beautifully sad.

Edit: to your closing question, in the early-early '70s (when Bowie made this album), he was considered obscure and weird and outside the box--- and then he made an album named "The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars," and boom, he was a ROCK STAR. "Ziggy Stardust" was his "Purple Rain" (or "Purple Rain" was Prince's "Ziggy Stardust")...

I was brokenhearted and cried for three people I had never met in person, John Lennon, David Bowie, and Prince. How tragic we lost David Bowie and Prince within 102 days of one another…….we lost so much and will never be the same again.
