Led Zeppelin- Stairway to Heaven Live (Music)

Comments

Hi Amber, with Ozzy's passing, will you be doing a reaction to his music? Rest easy, Ozzy, we love and miss you. My Top 5 songs are: Mama, I’m Coming Home - Ozzy wrote this song for Sharon. A 1991 ballad showcasing Ozzy’s emotional side, widely loved for its heartfelt lyrics. Bark at the Moon - Title track from the 1983 album, known for its iconic riff and werewolf-themed energy. No More Tears - A 1991 epic with a haunting melody and powerful vocals, often cited as a fan favorite. Mr. Crowley - From Blizzard of Ozz (1980), a tribute to Aleister Crowley with a legendary guitar solo. Diary of a Madman - The 1981 album’s title track, a complex masterpiece with intricate guitar work. God bless you and yours, Amber. EB

SERGEANT ROCK'S HEADBANGERS BALL

Definitely JPJ on keyboards.

Jimmy Page is a master of the guitar, right up there with David Gilmour.

For sure my favorite LED Zepp song. I was not a big follower, but this one was epic.

With Stranger Things coming soon, I really want you to hear a different side to VH1 or Vecna. Jamie Campbell Bower plays him and releases music under just Jamie Bower. The song is Heaven In Your Eyes. Please grab a tissue if you watch!

One thing us musicians say is, "Can we carry this live." That's the one thing about Zep that was true. They could carry it live. Back then vs. today, the live show was an experience, a way to take a break from the rat race and escape in the music. I don't know what it is, but Rock and Metal, the shows are still awesome to go to, but there's that one band that...just can't carry their music live and it feels like money wasted. But not with Zep! My Brothers saw Zep live. They broke up I think it was 1980 and I missed out on that experience. Sucked! My mom and pops let me go to KISS in '79 with my Brothers for my 9th birthday. My first rock concert. To have had Zep be my first rock concert, would have been 10X better. At least Darrell and Vinnie Abbott (Pantera) and I have in common, we got to see KISS live when they were in their prime. Now though, eh, I can do without. Zep is always in the tape deck....yes, I still think cassette tapes sound better....LOL...for road trips and jam sessions to warm up with. Ambs, your journey has introduced you to some great acts, and we're stoked when we get to see you react to Zep. It's always cool to see the new generations jam to the tunes that defined our lives growing up. The generational torch being passed as the timeless songs stay timeless. But, Fun Fact about STH. If you ever get the chance to walk into a guitar store and head back to where the buyer can jam, you'll see a list, "Songs That Will Get You Banned From Our Store:..." STH is No. 1 and AC/DC's 'Thunderstruck' is No. 2. 🤘🤣 And on that note. This is a set list from one of our shows. It's a mix of Rock, Metal, Thrash, Metalcore, Preachcore (Yep, Christian Metal has a Subgenre called Preachcore), ProgMetal, and NuMetal. You're always looking for music from the GenX era and the Millennial era, we've got all that you need over here on The Ball, Ma'am! 🤘We hope to tune into Patreon one day and see one of these songs featured. Have fun with them! Eyes Wide-Open Sleeping Giant: Preachcore Clutch-Electric Worry: Maryland's Best Export to Pure Rock Music (You're gonna love this song since you love the harmonica) Deftones-Be Quiet And Drive (Far Away): From their record, 'Around the Fur'. After hearing this, you'll need a cold shower! - Every woman I've known has said this at one time or another after hearing this song!🤘🤣 To me, this song is one of their many opuses. “We’ve never just been a metal band, we’ve never just been an alternative band, we’ve always just been us,” highlighting their blend of beauty and brutality, drawing from diverse influences. Highlight: III-Sleep Theory: One of the Hottest New Artists in the Metalcore scene. Amazing work! These guys are in A-List Rotation, and I think this band is a generational talent right up there with The Stones, Zep, Maiden, Priest, The Big Four, Pantera, the New York Thrash/Hardcore Scene, AIC, Peal Jam, Soundgarden, Tad, Skinyard, Helmet, Gruntruck, and Big Wreck! Bands that shaped the lives of GenX! 5 Star Band! We also think you'll love Sammy Hagar's newest-Encore, Thank You, Goodnight.. "I can't wait for the world to hear this very special song Joe and I wrote as a long overdue thank you to Eddie Van Halen for the music, the good times, and the dream that inspired this track, 'Encore, Thank You, Goodnight.'" - Sammy Sacred-Parkway Drive: Metalcore/HeavyMetal Domino the Destitute-Coheed and Cambria: Rock/ProgMetal Time’s Up-Living Colour-Rock Legends Who Made Who-AC/DC-Rock Legends Slipknot-Before I Forget - Metal/Thrash/Speed Metal/Deathcore/Metalcore What Doesn't Die-Anthrax-Thrash Legends A Tout le Monde (Set Me Free) (ft Cristina Scabbia)-Megadeth-Metal The Gallows-Black Label Society-Metal (Released a few months back: Ozzy Osbourne's Guitarist) More Than I Could Chew-Mastadon-ProgMetal/Metal Born For One Thing-Gojira-ProgMetal Korn-Shoots and Ladders-Nu Metal Big Four Member Red Cold River-Breaking Benjamin-Nu Metal Legends (Get your tissue ready for this song!) As for Zep, keep jammin to them, I hope you can one day pick up an axe and it's to you like Ping Pong was to Forrest Gump! Keep your horns held high and that volume knob cranked to 11, Ambs. John Paul Jones was their secret weapon, as he was multi instrumental, plus him and Jimmy had worked in recording studios and they could record things the way they wanted instead of having to depend on record companies engineers.

Amber, your growth in music has been a revelation to me. I believe you very well may understand it even better than I do. That is not easy for me to admit. But the insight you display blows me away!! Growing up in Chicago, on different holidays they would have a countdown of the greatest 100 songs of the rock era. For many years this song finished at number #1. It actually used to piss me off! I enjoyed Zeppelin but I was really more of a Clapton - Who - blues fan. You very well may have convinced me of the error of my ways! Your prescience about music is astounding to me! I seriously think you need to have a late night television show to listen to and talk about the entire Rock and Roll era. There used to be one in the seventies with a guy named Chip Monck. It was an excellent late night talk show with the most excellent stars of that era! YOU need to host a modern version of that show!

Gary

You mentioned the added dimension of being able to see the musicians perform live rather than just hearing them in a studio version. I find that when live performances are filmed, they nearly always focus very heavily on the lead singer and guitarists, very often at the expense of keyboardists and drummers. Sina Döring is a drummer who has done MANY covers of classic rock tracks (as well as composing her own music) on her "Sina Drums" YouTube channel. In her videos, you hear the studio recording absent the studio drums -- she supplies the drum track and films from multiple angles so you can see her arms and legs in action on the drums, cymbals end pedals. She's been doing this since she was 10 years old (she's 26 this year) and she is amazing. Watch her covers of Free Bird (Lynyrd Skynyrd), Foreplay/Long Time (Boston), La Grange (ZZ Top), Detroit Rock City (KISS) or Wipe Out (The Surfaris -- with her dad on guitar) to appreciate the complexity and speed of some of the drum work we all love from the original artists, who have to coordinate the independent movement of four separate limbs. Drummers have to be Doctor Octopus.

Michael Griffin

That was a great reaction. If you haven't already seen it, you'd LOVE Heart doing Stairway at the Kennedy Center as they honored Robert, Jimmy & JPJ. They even had Bonzo's son on the drums. It was great because the guys had no idea he was going to be there. You'd also love--not just cause it's Led Zep--the live version of 'How Many More Times' from 1969...and Bonzo's 'Moby Dick' live. His son, Jason, also did 'Moby Dick' at a Guitar Center...anniversary, I guess...where halfway through they started showing videos of his dad playing, so it was like they were playing together. Very touching. I, too, was a huge Led Zep fan growing up--while others were Stones people, or The Who, or Queen. Led Zep was it for me. And I do believe that WAS JPJ on keyboard...though I could be wrong.

She spoke on memories is all we have from those shows before cell phones or cam recorders became prevalent and she so right. This is why we talk about them on these reaction channels cause where else can we talk about them. So many shows from the mid 70's, 80's and 90's that I only have memories of.

John Christopher xcronex

Yes she needs to react to the entire movie. I mean it would be awesome if she did.

John Christopher xcronex

This is from the documentary The Song Remains the Same, from their concerts at MSG in 73. It's an absolute must watch.
