Amber, right on about Ringo. He has always been underrated but when he was added as the last piece to the band, he was the perfect fit. The four of them “together” were magic. Their music will live on and on. Great choices‼️ Keep on listening and reacting❤️

2025-08-17 20:09:24 +0000 UTCYou’re 100% right. I bet if you were to just go through the group of people on your Patreon you’d find so much diversity amongst us but the music and shows/films brings us together. You created a little community and that’s pretty cool!!

2025-08-17 05:01:03 +0000 UTCGreat song. One of the best “potboilers” as George Martin would call the songs that opened an album. It bears a slight resemblance to a Chuck Berry song called “You Can’t Catch Me”. I’m still trying to figure out if Paul is harmonizing with John or is it John harmonizing with himself?

2025-08-17 05:00:35 +0000 UTCFun fact: this song was originally written by Lennon from a request for a guy named Timothy Leary’s campaign for California governor against Ronald Reagan. The campaign slogan was “Come Together, Join the Party”. It didn’t really work out, so the Beatles recorded it. However, the song was problematic because it lifted Chuck Berry’s “You Can’t Catch Me”, its melody and even down to the very first line of the song, “here come ol’ flattop”. So Paul suggested deliberately slowing the song down a lot and added the distinctive bass hook. But there were all kinds of lawsuits flying around for a while and Lennon had to settle them. If you listen to Chuck Berry’s song you can tell they’re pretty much the same.
