Ms Marvel is important to the timeline, you need to watch it, you have to watch it (WATCH IT)

2025-08-27 07:47:04 +0000 UTCI'd say it's best to check out everything and form your own opinion on each thing. There's always gonna be people who either love or hate something, so having your own view on it is better, rather than potentially missing out, and therefore missing out on key details in later movies/shows.

2025-08-26 03:26:37 +0000 UTCGuardians 3 has been the best one since Endgame LOL. Thunderbolts is in a close second.

2025-08-26 03:23:43 +0000 UTCMarvel kinda lost there way after endgame. I would recommend being picky about which of their subsequent content you watch. Check reviews, etc. Some of it isn’t worth your time imo. Even Guardians 3 was just so-so. Hopefully things improve with Doomsday and Secret Wars…

2025-08-26 00:37:57 +0000 UTCMs Marvel was a pretty good series. Not my favorite, but still pretty good overall. It’s fairly short. I think you’d go through it pretty quick. It will do a lot in explaining her powers in the Marvels movie. So yes, I would suggest it. But I think it’s one that you can knock out fairly quick.

2025-08-26 00:35:20 +0000 UTC“Ms. Marvel” was fun for me. You can’t watch “The Marvels” without watching it or you will be completely lost. So if you skip the miniseries, then skip the movie. But as a mother of young girls, I think you should know “Ms. Marvel” is great with a strong teenage brown female who shows strength of character through her cultural, religious, and familial background.

2025-08-25 21:34:14 +0000 UTCI didn’t have much expectations going into Ms. Marvel, but it ended up being one of my favorite Marvel shows. What makes it stand out is how much it leans into Kamala’s (the main character) background, she’s a Muslim Pakistani-American, and the show actually takes the time to show her culture, her family, and her community in a way that feels authentic and fun. It’s rare to see any superhero genre delve into the indian/pakistani culture. It also just looks different. The colors pop, there are cool comic-style visuals and little doodle animations that match Kamala’s imagination, which gives the show this playful vibe you don’t really see too much of in the MCU. On top of that, her family isn’t just in the background, they’re a huge part of the story, which makes it feel warmer and more relatable than most superhero stuff. And it’s not just about powers or saving the world either; the show even touches on real history, like the Indian/Pakistan Partition, adding some emotional depth you wouldn’t expect in a superhero show. Kamala herself is super relatable, she’s a fangirl of the Avengers before becoming a hero, which makes her feel like one of us. Overall, it’s less about being a perfect superhero and more about figuring out where you belong, and that mix of fun, culture, and heart is what makes it unique.

2025-08-25 20:20:15 +0000 UTCGuardians 3 is a must- only after Hawkeye, and Guardians holiday special. Not understanding why one would skip Ms Marvel, its quite good & works right in to The Marvels. As far as Moon Knight & Werewolf by Night- both are excellent but as of yet havent directly tied into the mcu story lines. Yet.

2025-08-25 16:24:14 +0000 UTCPlease don't wait too long to do Guardians 3. It's one of my favorites and I think you'll enjoy it a lot.

2025-08-25 11:44:26 +0000 UTCNah she needs to watch hawkeye. It’s relevant especially for the character building of Yelena that will come in handy when she makes it to Thunderbolts

2025-08-25 05:05:48 +0000 UTCBtw Amber, with Kang they were planning to set him up as the main villain for the next phase originally. However due to a lot of circumstances ranging from legal issues with the actor to fan feedback they have basically tossed that entire storyline and much of the multiverse saga out the window. They replaced what was gonna be Kang’s avenger film with “Avengers: Doomsday” where the new main villain slated for the mcu is Doctor Doom. So you probably won’t be seeing kang again. They may do something to transition from him to Doom as the main villain but I doubt it. They’ll likely just pretend the mcu never had Kang in the picture lol

2025-08-25 05:03:56 +0000 UTCMs. Marvel, is Kamala Khan. She has a whole backstory like all Marvel characters. Great for the history of India and the partition. I never knew of it until I watched the Ms. Marvel series.

2025-08-25 03:40:06 +0000 UTCKANG WILL NOT RETURN, just so as we're clear amber He was going to be back playing all of those variants in avengers 5 at least but... jonathan majors, the actor, got into a lot of legal trouble with domestic violence and disney later fired him to move on from his now-tainted image So, the new villain is now doctor doom, the fantastic four's archenemy, played by robert downey jr.

2025-08-25 03:16:17 +0000 UTCAfter I finish my happy dance that we finally get to watch Hawkeye with you, I have a just a few comments. It's one of my favorites Marvel series'. I am also looking forward to Daredevil. Please start with the Netflix series as it ties in with Born Again. I've been a DD fan since the late 70's. I sold off my comics years ago, except 1; Daredevil #181 the death of Elektra. As for today's movie I will avoid coitizing it as a science teacher and enjoy it for pure entertainment value. I almost forgot about MODOK. He was in the comics, believe it or not. M.O.D.O.K. stands for Mental Organism Designed Only for Killing. There was a MODOK animated series, it was very funny. It's available on HULU.

2025-08-25 02:45:50 +0000 UTCDaredevil (Netflix version) is a top-5 show of all time for me and a must watch, especially since Daredevil: Born Again is essentially Daredevil Season 4 in all but name.

2025-08-25 02:41:58 +0000 UTCI loved the inclusion of the Welcome Back, Kotter theme song!! If you haven't heard of it, it was a sitcom that ran from 1975-1979 and was probably John Travolta's first TV role (as Vinny Barbarino) Great sitcom. I thought you hit the nail on the head with the Star Wars / Avatar comparison! I, too, have only seen the first one. We saw it at IMAX, so that was very cool--especially those scenes of the "steeds" jumping off the cliff--not so cool if anyone was prone to motion sickness! When you started asking why He Who Remains was back, I had no idea who you were talking about...for about 2 minutes--then it clicked. I saw THIS before watching Loki with you, so didn't really know the backstory of He Who Remains when I first saw this. I'm glad you're doing Hawkeye. I recently saw Thunderbolts*, which came out a few months ago. There is one character that we've seen previously that is in this new one and some of this person's timeline is filled in in Hawkeye. Not having seen Hawkeye previously didn't detract at all from the movie, but I know Hawkeye fills in some "what've you been up to?" stuff. So...not sure what it IS, but your t-shirt: it LOOKS like Sasquatch riding Nessie (the Loch Ness monster)! Maybe I need to get my eyes checked?

2025-08-25 02:28:34 +0000 UTCI hoped ms marvel would be relevant in the long term but as enter the 3rd year of its existence it seems the show was just another story that functions better than a standalone thing instead of a piece to a bigger puzzle The marvels isn't any better it was a disappointment not only for its box office draw but its quality in story and script All it really was... just a follow-up to the show that really didn't show anything new You can skip it And tbh, you should've skipped hawkeye Anything you will now learn by starting it, you could've been introduced to in later shows You mentioned daredevil; that would've been the better route to take
Karl Kraus
2025-08-25 02:24:53 +0000 UTCNot soon. She still has a few movies to check out including X-Men.
Aldo Gonzales
2025-08-25 02:11:54 +0000 UTCBy the way, where will you begin with Daredevil? If you don't watch the Netflix series (3 seasons) you will be totally lost if you start with Born Again, which is a continuation.
Theo Harris
2025-08-25 01:36:43 +0000 UTC48:40 "That is not He Who Remains...is it?" Remember that He Who Remains described a multiverse of Kangs. This is one of them. But is it the one that is also He Who Remains...? 1:12:00 "All the Scotts working together." Some species of ants work together in similar ways, using their bodies to build living bridges across water, etc.

2025-08-25 01:09:53 +0000 UTCThe main thing Ms. Marvel does is give the origin story of a character who is one of the main characters in The Marvels (the next Captain Marvel movie). If you really don’t want to watch it, you could honestly just find a recap video or something like that. I thought the show was just ok, but I’m not really the target audience for it

2025-08-25 00:58:40 +0000 UTCDoes moon knight actually tie into the mcu at all? It’s a cool watch but I don’t remember anything from the show mattering beyond the show

2025-08-25 00:56:48 +0000 UTCTbf Doom is a much better big bad than Kang. Kang would have been cool but he’s nowhere near Thanos level. Doom on the other hand can be if they do it right. I just wish they would’ve found a way to tie it all together better instead of just a full on pivot with an abrupt end to the kang era

2025-08-25 00:54:50 +0000 UTCWhat was the worse part for you? I was racking my brain for plot-holes and/or poor acting. Maybe the plot wasn't your cup of tea?

2025-08-25 00:52:41 +0000 UTCOf all of the Marvel Shows that you have enjoyed, Hawkeye is more grounded and fits with the Street Level Avengers like Bucky, Sam (New Cap), Hawkeye, Yelena (New Black Widow). But as far as Ms Marvel goes, it isn't the worst thing ever. And like Theo Harris said it had one of the highest scores/ratings/view-counts. It's pretty much all good feels, but maybe based on a trailer it seems child-like (possibly looks like a coming of age show). It actually is a bit child-like, but it is not made for kids (just like Ant-man and his movies aren't truly made for kids). The worse thing I can bring up about it is that she was a Muslim Teen GIRL and all the angry boys on the internet piled onto her show. Just like they did with Secret Invasion, and Echo, and Iron Heart, and Agatha... The through-line is that I always expect an objective perspective on shows/movies that got REALLY BAD ratings, but without pop-culture influence/breakdowns/spoilers I can actually enjoy the content un-biased here. Thank you Amber for letting us know what shows pique your interest, and that these street-level shows stand out to you. I look forward to whatever you watch here, and welcome Hawkeye. It seems like they will get a season 2, so I look forward to that. It may be without Renner, due to his pay-issues/hidden-controversy. But I trust pretty much whatever street-level shows they put out...

2025-08-25 00:51:01 +0000 UTCNah your intuition is right. Ms. Marvel is not good.

2025-08-25 00:19:00 +0000 UTCMs. Marvel is a great watch, the use of culture and family is great and I’d think you’d enjoy it.

2025-08-25 00:07:26 +0000 UTCMs. Marvel is geared toward a younger audience. It is well done. It is still the highest critic score (RT) of anything they done. Imam Vellani is perfect in the role. And I guess you skipping Moon Knight? i wouldn't it opens up a very interesting portion of MCU. And now that I think about it, since you into mythology (Moon Knight deals with Egyptian myths) it would be right up your alley.
Theo Harris
2025-08-24 23:37:06 +0000 UTCAnd with this... no more Kang All of this buildup from loki S1 wasted I hope regrouping with doctor doom pans out All of that extra time Marvel got, 8 whole months more, to get the story right, it better not be a disaster i'd love to see how the Council of Kangs is written off
