This was so sweet!!!! I really enjoyed it! I think the Irish songs were by The Pogues!! ❤️❤️❤️

I remember using a website to play Seven Degrees of Separation from Kevin Bacon. That had to be 20 years ago. An Example Ben Affleck: was in Good Will Hunting with Matt Damon. Matt Damon: was in Ocean's Eleven with Julia Roberts. Julia Roberts: was in Flatliners with Kevin Bacon. Therefore, Ben Affleck has a Bacon number of 3. Finding a Bacon number of 7 was basically impossible. I have seen it, but cannot remember an example.

I know a guy, whos mom knew a guy from high school, his cousin dated Kevin Bacons twice removed aunt. That's how I know Kevin Bacon. 6°

Cosmo does not wear a collar like in Up. That is where his helmet was attached to his spacesuit. He was the first cosmonaut sent into space by the Soviet Union. Just like the Fantastic Four, Cosmo was bombarded by cosmic rays giving him super powers. In Cosmo's case, he gained telepathy. He was communicating with Rocket telepathically. Kevin Bacon was receiving phone calls from his wife in real life, actress Kyra Sedgwick. Also, it wasn't kidnapping because, technically, he was abducted by aliens.

Absolutely agree. I had the Rocky Horror soundtrack on 8-track, later replaced by cassette, then CD, now a download to a flash drive in my car.

This special presentation is the second one made so far. The first one is a Halloween special called Werewolf By Night, and since we’re now in October it would be perfect for the season. There’s two versions available – one in monochrome which is the original version, and another in full color. Your choice, but highly recommended. And in case you’re interested in keeping the Marvel Halloween spirit going, I would also recommend Agatha All Along which had premiered just one year ago. Since you already checked out Multiverse of Madness, you pretty much met the criteria required. Not only do we get to see more of Kathryn Hahn as the iconic Marvel witch, but we also get to see her star in her own show. And with all out of the way, onto some facts and my opinions about this holiday film. 1.) This special was announced almost five years ago during Disney Investor Day 2020, and it wasn’t until almost three years ago when we were finally able to watch it. Kevin Feige said that he and his fellow Marvel Studios staff always wanted to create a holiday special, but they didn’t have the right platform to put it on until Disney Plus rolled in. 2.) James Gunn specifically chose Drax and Mantis to have the most focus in this special, because he felt they were sidelined in their last three film appearances which were Infinity War, Endgame, and Love and Thunder. 3) Mantis’ parentage originated from a deleted scene in Volume 2. It happened during Yondu’s funeral. While Kraglin was teaching Star-Lord how to use the Zune that Yondu left as a parting gift, Mantis confided in Drax that Ego was also her father. 4.) Right off the bat, a lot of things happened offscreen after the Guardians parted ways with Thor and Korg. Nebula pretty much confirmed that the Collector is still alive. After Thanos left Knowhere in flames, we were led to believe that he killed him when he got the reality stone. However, it looks like both Knowhere and the Collector somehow managed to survive. I’m guessing they were able to afford it by answering all those distress calls regarding Gorr the God Butcher. 5.) Cosmo was also part of the Collector’s collection. When the Guardians purchased Knowhere, they released Cosmo and welcomed her to the team. 6.) As for Young Adult Groot, or Swoll Groot, James said that he was getting bigger both upward and outward. He also said that he has a different and stockier physiology as well as a more outgoing personality than the first Groot. My guess is this Groot was inspired by Thor’s workout routine. 7.) My favorite funny moments were bulletproof Drax, Rocket lunging at Kevin, and Bucky’s arm. Also, Fictionaldarling pointed out that Peter might not be the most rational among the Avengers but he definitely is the most rational among the Guardians. He has to be especially with Gamora gone. Even Nebula respects him as a leader. 8.) My favorite heartfelt moments were Peter’s reaction to the winter wonderland, Groot getting a Game Boy as a present, and Peter realizing that he still had family by blood. 9.) I also gotta talk about the music. I’m so glad we got more unique holiday songs in this special. The only track I was already familiar with was Christmas Wrapping by The Waitresses which is what played in the night club. The first time I heard that song was in Shrek the Halls. 10.) The band featured in this special are the real-life rock band The Old 97’s, but when they’re wearing alien makeup they’re called the Knowheremen. The Old 97’s lead singer Rhett Miller took part in writing both songs, and he co-wrote the first one with James himself. While I liked the beat from the first song, I personally liked the lyrics in the second song a lot more. There’s also a big change in ambience between the two. The crowd wasn’t into the first song, but when Kevin joined in they clearly got a standing ovation. By the way, Kevin has a band with his older brother Michael. They’re simply called the Bacon Brothers.

13:03 You’re spoiling. 12:28 However, not including the two original songs we got this is the only already existing song I was familiar with.

Aldo Gonzales

Kevin Bacon has had a band for thirty years with his brother Michael, known as the Bacon Brothers.

She needs to react to Fairytale of New York, and then watch it performed at Shane McGowan's funeral.

00:25 Opening animation flashback SOUNDTRACK: “Fairytale of New York” by The Pogues with Kristy MacColl 04:40 “I Don’t Know What Christmas Is (But Christmastime is Here)" by The Old 97’s (Written specifically for the holiday special, obviously) 09:08 “Dead by XMas” by Hanoi Rocks (very short snippet playing in Kevin Bacon's car as he arrives at home) 09:20 The voice on the other end of the call is Kyra Sedgwick, Kevin Bacon's real-life wife. 09:29 “Christmas Treat” by Julian Casablancas 10:43 “Is This Christmas?” by The Wombats 12:28 "Christmas Wrapping" by The Waitresses. 13:03 Yarvos is a real L.A. bar, and the actor playing the bartender is not only an actual bartender there, but also worked with James Gunn on Suicide Squad, where he played Javelin. 14:22 “Just Like Christmas” by LOW 15:25 Kevin Bacon is watching a 1964 movie called "Santa Claus Conquers the Martians." 18:23 "I Want an Alien for Christmas" by Fountains of Wayne 22:22 “Mrs. Claus” by Little Jackie 25:30 “Christmastime” by The Smashing Pumpkins 26:50 "So is this like their home base?" Michael Griffin

Kevin Bacon was watching "Santa Claus Conquers the Martians" (1964). Widely regarded as one of the worst movies ever made.

Duke Pootentooter

I've never seen this before! It was pretty funny. Love that opening Christmas song by the aliens. I wonder if it was supposed to be kind of an homage to the Star Wars Christmas Special (known as the worst 2 hours ever on television, but weirdly hilarious and trippy. I think it's available on YouTube, if you're interested).

Meryl Lim

The opening song was 'Fairytale of New York' by The Pogues, a Celtic punk band that formed in London in the early 80s. Shane MacGowan, the lead singer, had a very distinctive, hard to miss voice. The last song, I think, is a continuation of the opening song.

Marc Lamoureux

All I can say is this song is the truth!!

Jewel

I have not yet seen this, but certainly noticed the requests for this in the comments. Now that we’ve hit October, spooky season, I’m hoping there will be lots of scary and themed movies coming. It’s the 50th anniversary of the original Rocky Horror Picture Show, and I think that would make a wonderful reaction during Halloween season. Unless Amber‘s already seen it .

Richard C

It was necessary, Ebenezer Kraus. I’ll explain later. Right now, all you need to know is that Volume 3 will drop later today.

Aldo Gonzales

This wasn't really necessary You should've just gone over to volume 3

Are we allowed to recommend a song from an artist as a “sacrificial lamb” to allow her to hear it and decide if she’d like to listen to for the channel or just on her own?? I’m going to try and I’ll take my punishment if the Boss Lady says “NO!!!”. Tiny bit of background: This person made (in essence) only one true album and it’s arguably in consideration for the greatest debut of all time (It’s in my top three) and there is a recently released documentary about him that is PHENOMENAL!!! Here’s the artist I always wished you’d hear. (Disclaimer: I’m not dedicating this to her as my declaration of eternal love. I’m sorry, Amber… All we could ever be is internet besties. I hope this doesn’t leave you with a 💔🥺) https://youtu.be/nrMwgTc69y4
