Paranormal Activity was so good. PART 2 is a good follow-up to it. The rest are kind of so-so. One movie that I forgot how creepy it was is Hide and Seek (2005) with Robert Deniro and a young Dakota Fanning. I'm like you and grew up on horror films and rarely have films affect me... but that one gets me every time!!!!

It stars John Cusack, who was in another of my favorite horror films from 2003 called "Identity." (You probably already have the rest of your lineup for Spooktober, but it doesn't hurt to have a few extra in the queue, just in case.)

Take the smallest room, because these hauntings usually take place in big houses Why is Katie the closest one by the door. Why don’t they just close the door and barricade themselves as they sleep—the entity always come from outside. Could you do The Exorcist and The Omen?

2025-10-16 01:01:34 +0000 UTCThe scene when she gets dragged out of bed by the demon always gives me flashbacks to when my Ex girlfriend lived with me, She used to suffer from Night Terrors and one night she started screaming and saying “It’s got me, it’s got me” and literally was moving herself up against the wall, I gradually woke her up and calmed her down and she told me in the night terror, Hands came out my bedroom wall and started dragging her up it, It freaked me out for a good few weeks, That wasn’t the one and only time it happened but it was the first and it scared the hell out of me.

2025-10-16 00:37:25 +0000 UTCOkay, two things: I'm mostly a skeptic about the paranormal, but I've never owned a Ouija board, and I never will. They were originally started as a kid's game but.....they changed somehow 2) I prefer the types of movies that either don't show you the monster or wait until the very end. Stephen King wrote a lot about this particular topic in his amazing book 'Danse Macabre' (a GREAT read about horror novels, movies and TV shows, I used his list of great novels for YEARS as a reading guide). What King wrote was seeing the monster you scream, but there is a bit of relief there. It's like there's a monster knocking your door and you open it and find a 10-foot-tall monster. You scream, but also think "I can deal with this, I thought it was gonna be a 20-foot-tall monster." This movie lets the story build and literally scare yourself. Glad you enjoyed it. As the Great Elvira would say, " Unpleasant Dreams...."
