The decision to kill off Miller's character was reportedly influenced by tensions between him and director Michael Bay. It has been suggested that Miller's behavior upset Bay. The age-old is alive with this one, mess with Bay, die a gruesome way! Happens in every one of his movies. Post movie: JT Miller has had had trouble with the law from SA to bomb threats on an Amtrak train. He is a very disturbed person.

While I liked Shia's character in the first 3, it just wasn't to the point where I was turned off by his character not being part of it anymore. I agree with what you were saying, where they pretty much picked up the story some time AFTER what happened at the end of the last film. I liked Mark Wahlberg's character. I loved the whole father/daughter/boyfriend dynamic...pretty funny. For a good laugh, you should check out Ted/Ted 2 w/ Wahlberg & Seth McFarlane...if you haven't already. Who doesn't love a talking teddy bear?? Well...pretty sure there are plenty that didn't. ALSO, on the music front, you should jump in the time machine and travel back to 1991 and check out some pre-actor Mark Wahlberg when he was Marky Mark (& The Funky Bunch) with his hit 'Good Vibrations'. I was watching some old interviews with him from '91--such a different person. In one interview, the one thing he said more than anything else...like, every third or fourth word--was "know what I'm sayin?" LOL

While many people will coitize this movie because of the lack of Sam, it has Optimus, which is all I need. Plus, I am a Mark Wahlberg fan. Also, some people may think its insignificant, but Optimus is a cabover truck again. As someone that grew up with the Transformers animated series in the 80's and had the toy, Optimus was always a cabover. When the first live action movie came out, we were happy to see Transformers become more real, but a little disappointed that they made him a conventional truck. Never understood why they did. I am glad they came to their senses finally. The difference between CIA and FBI is jurisdiction FBI works within US borders and CIA works outside, Those lines are blurred in the movies, but then movies aren't real. John Goodman is Hound, with the beard and cigar. In the animated series, Hound was an army Jeep. I know John Goodman best as Mighty Mac from the Blues Brothers 2000. He was also in The Big Lebowski among many other credits. At the end, we see the Dinobots. The T. Rex is Grimlock. The pterodactyl is Swoop.
