Jeff Buckley- Lover, You Should've Come Over

Jeff Buckley- Lover, You Should've Come Over

Comments

That little guy made what was one of my favorite reactions even better. Popping in to tell people “hi” was so incredibly cute. What a sweet boy!!

Ryan Garcia

This is a really good reaction, Jeff is my favorite artist of all time and it felt so cool to watch someone experience him with the same emotional intensity I did. Grace is one of the best albums of all time, I totally recommend it. Also, a documentary on him just came out on HBO Max called It's Never Over, Jeff Buckley. I recommend that as well, it's amazing and I'd be very interested to see your reaction for one. It made me bawl like a baby, especially at the end.

Ask for Eurythmics next time. Only 50% Annie Lennox, but it’s their song. Happy holidays!

Knut Farbu

Great reaction! This song is so powerful and emotional, and his voice is out of this world. The title track from his album Grace is another great song from him.

Knut Farbu

I'm so tired of requesting Annie Lennox's 'Right By Your Side' for the past year. I guess it will never happen. I even sent a private message. Oh, well. Happy Holidays.

Grace is one of my top 3 albums of all time. I've been a fan of Jeff since day 1, and was lucky enough to see him back in 1994 and it was one of the most transcendent concert experiences of my life. His death in 1997 affected me deeply. How lucky we were to have him and have this album as his legacy for us to come back to again and again. Your reaction to this has been long awaited, and you reacted precisely how I hoped you would to all the most perfect and beautiful elements of the song. Cheers!

Wes Morrison

I’ve been obsessed with this album for 30+ years and after awhile the “what if…🥺” starts to wear off and it’s more “if we were only going to get one true album from him, THANK GOD this is what he gave us!!”. I 🙏 🙏🙏 she’ll do the “Grace” on After Hours at some point before she ends her Patreon one day.

Only the second time listening to this song, and the first time I listened all the way through. It's a powerful song if you're in a similar kind of emotional state as the one he's singing about. It was very well done. Nicely produced and engineered, a simple but clean musical arrangement and an emotional vocal delivery. Can't say he's one of my favorites yet, but this song definitely has me interested in listening to more of his work. I just learned that he died at age 30 of an accidental drowning. No drugs or alcohol involved, just a terrible accident. A life and musical career tragically cut short. For those of us who didn't know him, that means a lot of songs he would have performed and recorded that we'll never get to hear. Too many musicians taken too early. Too many to name.

Hi Amber. I was so hyped when I saw you were reacting to Jeff Buckley! He is one of the greatest vocalist and songwriters of all time. The fact that he’s playing guitar and singing at the same time on a song like this is mind blowing. He was definitely a gift. The rest of the album is brilliant. Great reaction as per usual. Thank you.

I like listening to Jeff's version of "Hallelujah" and then his dad's song "Once I Was" by Tim Buckley. Both men were taken from us far to soon. Every time I hear "Once I Was" I think of the 1987 documentary called "Dear America: Postcards From Vietnam" where famous actors read the real letters G.I.s sent back to "the world" from Vietnam. If the story doesn't get you, the amazing soundtrack will. For example, there is a great helicopter air assault scene with "Give Me Shelter" by the Rolling Stones playing that gives me chills just thinking about. Alice Cooper, Creedence Clearwater Revival, The Band, Jimi Hendrix, Sam Cooke, Marvin Gaye, The Doors, Buffalo Springfield, and Elvis Presley are some of the featured artists. I love that you discovered Jeff Buckley! Next song should be Last Goodbye, and his version of Hallelujah is unbelievable.

Luca's Cameo was Too Cute! Hope Santa treats Him Very Well, and Mom Always Provides the Love, I'm sure! VERY Unique Singer... and You Were 'On-Target' that His Voice Echoed the Emotion in the Lyrics! Have a Wonderful Weekend, Amber!

I have not even watched the reaction yet. But what you say is correct. And the documentary is absolutely fantastic. I think it’s on HBO now finally. “It’s Never Over, Jeff Buckley, which takes its name from a line in this song.

First time hearing him., and he's already gone. Damn...... another Jeff that left us too early is Jeff Healey. You should listen to As the Years go Passing by....Live. Incredible.

mecuskerd

🫡 That was great feedback regarding what you listened to. I always hoped you’d hear this in particular and be intrigued enough to look into him & the backstory. If you don’t ever end up listening to “Grace” on “After Hours” you must, MUST do it on your own when you can listen intentionally because it’s not hyperbolic to say it’ll probably be a album you can go back to at any point in life and it’ll rock you in some way. It’s been the record I’ll binge obsessively when I’m falling in love or trying to get over someone!!

Love Jeff Buckley! Such a great singer. Nina Simone was a huge influence on his vocal styling (he has a great cover of her song “ the other woman” floating around on YouTube.

Anthony Caples

One of my favorites. No skips.

JJlovesPrince

One of my favorite artists. Gone way too soon.

JJlovesPrince

Great reaction Amber. Thank you for listening to Jeff. His voice is incredible. The entire Grace album is brilliant.
